What the hell is the point of Steal Gold? I leveled a Thief to level 17 and tried Stealing but nothing came. Do you have to be a certain class or something? 
And oh yeah, how much do you actually steal? 10 gold?

How much you steal depends on the targets amount of gold. If a player had 100k, you'd probably steal around 20k, then a bit less each time. But if a player had around 100 gold, you'd only get around 20.

i'm pretty sure dexterity has a lot to do with stealing. not that it matters much nowadays. stealing has been watered down so much thieves pretty much equal assassins for thier ability to steal.

dex determines the chance of your stealing succeeding or not (combined with lvl ofcourse) but it doesn't affect the amount you steal.

it has been said loads of times before on this forum including by jlh that int it only used for mages to determine the damage they do.
