I made this topic a VERY long time ago, LOTS of people agreed with me too, Seeing Archmaster Druid/mage/fighter ect...is boring, We need the old things back like Male Human Spirit, Or as that might not tell level for other people that arent so clever Male Human Expert Druid then change at 30 to Male Human Archmaster Spirit??

Yup, I’m all for that. Leave the archmaster spirit bit though, sort of takes the edge of it. I highly rated the old naming system where by you acquired another title upon reaching level 30, a nice little bonus!

Why exactly is this cooler or better than seeing Male Archmaster Fighter? As far as I can see, it just replaces the class with the word "Spirit".

Because personally I don’t think the title archmaster is particularly inspiring. Also, the alternate titles make level 30 stand out as more of an achievement and are class specific for that little bit of extra variety.

not sure if you understood me

it would be male Human expert fighter/mage/cleric when you reach 24, all the stuff like initiate, Novice, Adept etc would stay in, but you add, for example

Spirit - Druid level 30 So it would say Male Human Archmaster Spirit

Warrior - Fighter level 30 Male Human Archmaster Warrior

Knight - Male Human Archmaster Knight level 30 pally

Barbarian Level 30 Zerk   Get my point?

If you're gonna make new title for archmaster, which is good idea, why not drop the archmaster part ?
So a mage gets to level 30, and can get a title of, in example, sorcerer, to become a Gnome Sorcerer (or Sorceress if female) or wizard -> Gnome Male Wizard in that case. Put a little thought behind it and we might get 2 or 3 different titles for one class to choose from; it's only letters anyway.
A lv 30 Fighter could become Warrior, and so on.

I would love to see it changed back.. I agree, the current system is a bit bland and boring at times. The way it was would bring SPICE!  Roll Eyes lol

Keep the Archmaster part so you can see what level difference there is, like initiate you know is low level.

But the only difference to now would be you wouldn’t able to differentiate level 29(i.e. still expert druid etc 24-29 then spirit at level 30), no big loss there if you ask me, not when we get some funky names Wink.

yeah same as what i thought. if the title just changes at lvl 30 you still know that person is a lvl 30 even if it doesn't say archmaster Cheesy

i think when you hit level 30, you could pick what you were.

Mage: you could be Wizard, Sorcerer, Conjurer
Fighter: Knight, Warrior, General
Cleric: Medic, Priest........

It would be nice if you could actually choose what you were, otherwise it would be just like it is now, a bunch of the same bland archy's (i also think archmaster should be dropped)

What if the whole thing was changed so rather than just the archies gettin male spirit or what ever each of the stages could be a different name.

Like fighter could be intiate=adventurer, naming all the others novice, adept etc names as well as achmaster.  Cheesy

I think Melfice has a good idea, and it's all up to JLH and him wanting to script up new Classes for Fighters, Rangers, Mages, Clerics (ect).  But, if we change it now, people will want to change it later on.  SO, here we are....

Edit:  Actually, scripting has nothing to do with it, it's the switching of names in the slots.
