I will never look at anything the same way again...

Being a media student, i now have this habbit of ripping films to peices. Most films have a genre, like sci-fi, comedy, thriller, horror, chick flick, drama, and Donnie Darko doesn't seem to have one.

Very strange film to say the least

Me neither - TV makes me want to hurt people.

But my sister made me watch DD soo long ago. It's being re-released to the cinema, in the US (I believe).

it's funny how they can't put it into a genre. i still say it's science fiction, because he sees into the future. The airplane jet came off while inside the wormhole, and came back from to the past.

The rest is very weird, but apparently it could have been a premonition. It's mooseing annoying trying to work it out... lol

Hated it when I first saw it, I think because it reminded me of a toned down version of a David Lynch movie, and I hate David Lynch with a passion. I've since seen it again though, while being forced not to be so critical over every detail, and it's not a bad movie. I just think it's kinda overrated.

nahh, i wouldn't say it's overrated, the opinions balance equally, each person with their own views on the movie, which is why it's so unique.

I haven't seen this but I think a friend of mine was telling me about it. Something about pink bunnies and airplane jets falling out of the sky.

i don't know if the webpage is still up but it was fairly nifty, and gave a little insight into the film. also, i have to say the soundtrack is amazing, tears for fears, tears for fears covers, and the best echo and the bunnymen song.
wouldn't it be funny if rich had registered this name first, and you were bickering with him?

yeah, that soundtrack is dope. i wouldn't say best echo and bunnyman, but it's all gravy. i kinda agree with the fact that it's overated. i wouldn't say it's the best movie i've seen, and it defintely hasn't influenced me as other films have, but it's defintely memorable.

and lynch is appreciable for his efforts, but after a while he gets annoying in the way where you just wanna slap him around, just for a bit.

but it's defintely memorable.

which is what makes it a great film. If you can get your audience to walk out of that theatre, talking about the film, and thinking about it, even DREAMING about it afterwards, then you've got it!

Someone told me about the movie a couple weeks ago, rented it along with some others and sat in my living room for about 18 hours watching all of em.

I had to watch Donnie Darko 3 times before i could understand wtf happened at the end :P

never seen it, whats it about?
I believe in the Triune God;God the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit.I believe that while I was helpless and sinful, Christ died for me. Therefore, I now have the righteousness of God, old things have passed away and I am a child of God. I cannot be separated from the love of God, Christ lives in my heart by faith and therefore, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have been chosen by God and appointed to bear fruit for God. I resist the devil and he flees from me.
