just the other night i went back to an old site where i used to publish cracks/trainers i made for games (prolly most succesfull one i made was a cesar 3 trainer that was used by about 10k ppl spread out over different sites )

when i got on the site i remembered that on the trainer request forum i found this guy that needed a trainer for....... nightmist. Thats when i started to play nm, first intention was to make a trainer for it but my knowledge wasn't good enough to work it out (since all data is stored on the server) so that's when is tarted to play.

funny thing is that i dun remember who wanted the cheat but at that time there were hardly any players in nm. when there were 5 ppl on at the same time it was alot.

so how did you get to know about nm?

There was this weird lil dude on my yahoo list about a year and a half ago, he messaged me one day all excited "YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS GAME WITH ME ITS AWESOME". So out of pure boredum i went to the site so he would stfu and leave me alone, downloaded the game and logged on for the first time as "Fairy". I did'nt know wtf i was looking at and closed it as soon as he left me alone. Couple weeks later i got bored of setting things on fire in the sink and watching re-runs of the Golden Girls that i just logged bak on and learned to play.... could'nt stop after that.


Ironic thing is that the lil dude who gave it to me got bored with it in 2 days and never played again

I was staff for a html chatsite and a hacker took the site along with it's ISP off the net for a long time, so I was sitting in front of my computer being bored when a friend of mine came over.

That friend (Kaylabugg in game) told my roommates at the time about a game she played called Nightmist, and installed it on my comp so they could check it out. Bit by bit my roommates and husband got into the game, so I finally decided to check it out as well, and have been stuck here ever since.

P.S. the chatsite has long since been up again, but I quit staffing because it was boring after getting to know NM.

You'll see me mention FT (Firetalk) and PT (Paltalk) a lot. They're both chatting programs, one being better than the other. Firetalk had shut down and a bunch of us went to Paltalk. Well, a friend of ours found out about this game. I have no idea how he found out about it. So, we asked the name of it and what the site was and stuff to download it.. because some of us were previous gamers. Well, I got the link and decided to download it. I of course was lost on it. I asked Jessie for help.. she was nice enough to loan me Jasper. Then Blake helped out here and there. Them being little tour guides and me not being able to print the maps out.. made me even more lost. Some of us would make a room on Paltalk called.. "Nightmist Addicts" or something like that. Even going into a regular chat room on there.. we'd discuss Nightmist. People got so sick of hearing about us talking about it. The funny thing is.. most of those people who complained still play.. or tried it out and decided it wasn't for them.

I've been playing for roughly 3 years now.

I've tried to play other games to get rid of my massive addiction. I still manage(d) to log on a lot for some reason. Maybe some people are right. Maybe someone did put crack in the server.. for it to be this addicting. Well, whatever someone did.. it worked. ;o

Like maha i was staff for another chathouse, that went down to a hacker. And as maha said Kaylabugg introduced me to this, and have been playing ever since.

I have no real idea how i got to play this game. But i think it happened like this

I was really bored a few years ago and started looking up random games sites and at first found a few nutsty MUDS then eventully i came across Nightmist and got hooked and also got my brother into it.........then i quit for about a year and then my brother got me back into the game.

I was working in the field late one evening when out of the sky came 3 bright lights. I remember small odd shaped hands touching me all over chanting yaba daba doo...yaba daba doo.

I awoke the next morning to find my computer on as always but my main page had been changed to an odd moon shape with more text then I could read in a day. After closing my browser my eyes became drawn to a fluffy little cloud on my screen. I was drawn to it. I couldn`t resist the urge to click on it. And the rest is history.

I miss my life before NM at times. Most of all those small hands touching me all over. Sex with my wife is odd now in that in order for me to fully get into it she must chant Yaba Daba Doo over and over.

The fields have turned to ash. But I have an arch Paci now any my life is complete.

Honestly tho Kenny_McCormak (My irl brother in law Chris) turned Mombette (My irl wife) onto NM. I got tired of sitting and watching over her shoulder so one day I started to play and was hooked from the jump.

I was playing a lot of Counter Strike with Mike (Xario) and his best friend irl Simon (Moloko) started playing NM and got me and him playing it too.

I remember Mike taking me to NM arena leaving me there to get my first level and me being stuck in there with someone healing me for 45 mins ended up training up to about level 5 without clicking level once lol

I got started on nm thanks to a few people who i rped with in a chatroom but having only webtv at the time i couldnt get in game....i was also 4 months prego and sleep was something that i did rarely.... with in a few months i uup grade to a laptop and was able to dl nightmist and have been hooked even since and my daughter is 3 yr old so i wouls have to say i have been playing for at least that long!

I was chatting on AIM with friends, and my cousin came up (Dark_ace Black_ace, all of them...Too bad he quit....) Anyway the server must have been down, because he couldn't get the game up...so about a year later he comes down again, and tries to download the same game for me. I insisted on him not downloading it because it looked stupid as anything, but sure enough when I got to playing it, and learned what I was doing, I loved the game. This was like thanksgiving 03

well some day , like 4 yr's ago , a class mate came to school and told us what a great game he found and plays for like 3 weeks .... he told us to try it ....like 8 ppls from my class room tested it ... but from those 8 only me and Misu didn't quit after like 1 week .... well it was hard at the begining cuz we didn't knew nothing about the game (how to play it and stuff)!but we got the basics from our class mate who told us about it ... and we played ... and we still play today too after 4 yr's ....... Funny thing is that the one who told us about the game quitted like 3 yr's ago

There were about four people in my Physics class who kept talking about it (Charon, Ecstasy, Foundtain and Curunir in-game)... eventually Charon convinced me to give it a try, and got hooked almost instantly.

Those were the days when I really was a bit naive; I tried to /enemy a Thief from the arenas after it killed me.

I was minding my own busisness about 2 years or so ago and I probally hadn't talked to Ash in quite sometime like I normally do, we tend to ignore each other a lot but anyways, she told me about NM and forced me to download it. Of course at this time I only had dial up, so after waiting for it to download, I rolled my first crit Nick_Lite_Cit who would later be turned into Zellish, I was stuck in Boar's for the longest time because I had no idea what I was doing since it was my first text based MUD, eventually after a day or so Ash told me how to move and helped me roll a pally (Justin_Dincht_Kor) I rolled a bunch of more crits most of which I no longer own, but because of my dial up and such I didn't play after that for some months til I moved to a different city and got cable, I was bored and noticed I still had Nightmist on my computer and decided to actually start playing, of course I was a loner back then and did all my training by myself and did not ask anyone for help and I was hooked since that point....even though I'm retired now

My friend called me up one day at the end of the summer a year ago and said "DUDE! YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS GAME!"

She was rather nasty with me, she told me the stats i rolled were good for an elf druid (17 10 11 12 13 21), and she took me training on bears and pked me once when I had 500 gold! Meanie!

She got introduced to it from a friend from her old school, where, tmk, there are a bunch of people that play. Her friend got her account stolen a few months ago, and my friend quit about 2 weeks after she told me about it. And then there was one.

I heard Mark(Exor) talking about it at school, he was bragging that he gained a level or something like that, and I asked him about the game. Before that me and Mark had been friends for almost a year?, and he never told me about the game. Well he told me about the game, and I d/led. Well my computer screen at the time was like 400x600, and nightmist don't support that, so I couldn't see anything but the screen you talk in, couldnt see equips or nothing. So I had to attack stuff by typing /a frog. Or something like that, I figured the game sucked, and I stopped playing. About 5 months later, I moved to the city next to the one me and Mark used to live in, and I got some friends, who I basically lived with, and one night I was up on their computer, bored as hell. So I figured I'd give Nightmist a second shot. Once I d/led I was amazed.. I could see all the bottons =o, but I started to get tired of it, cause I sucked. Then I met Garrick, he helped me, I joined his clan, The Red Legion.. and the rest was history. When the reset came I quit, and came back like 9 Months ago? And i'm still a nub >.<

I was taking PSP7 lessons online through a mailing list I was on. The instructor mentioned he was making himself a tag for the Message Board of *a different role playing game.* He talked me into trying that game, rolled my first crit for me (Mistique) and helped me a bunch... I got hooked on it. Nightmist was whispered about as being similar to it, but if anything was posted about it on the MB there, it was usually quickly deleted by staff. That game's server was always crashing, and over one long period of no game there, I decided to try Nightmist.

My first "Mistique" here was a cleric and had 14 Constitution but I didn't think it would matter, because I would only be playing until the other game got back up and running. I did post on the other game's MB about NM and invited everyone to try it. I helped some of the other players who I had talked into coming to NM learn the basics of it, healing them and showing them around town. I never left the town of Nightmist on my own, since I was used to the automap feature of the other game and couldn't figure out which way to go once I left the safety of town.

I returned to the other game, playing NM once a month or so for a little while. Then I read on the Forum here about Pacifists being introduced someday and I knew I would play this game exclusively if that happened. About that same time, my best friend in the other game had to stop playing due to IRL stuff... I quit playing that game and moved over to NM full time. I haven't signed my Mistique crit on in that other game since April.

I started playing because about 3 1/2 years ago I was playing Wolfenburg and some random person in my guild told me about this!! That was it really!

There was a large group of us in a chat room that ran a role play (rp) clan called the LS (Lost Souls) and the king of the clan DayWokr / Knine on game was bored with things and the constant pressure it takes to run a rp clan so he started looking around for other "rp enviornments" to escape. well with him went his obsessed chick rp wife Demoness/ LS_Demoness_LS on game. At the time I was on a webtv so I couldn't play. They elicited Lokey (same as on game) and Izabeau (played by lokey most the time since Izabeau is a college student and don't have time online much but same as on game) they were also in the rp clan and they came over and started playing as well. Leaving the chat room pretty much to me since I couldn't play with my webtv. My poor web couldn't even pull up the website.

When my daughter was 3 months old I got my first computure and downloaded the game playing with my first character of Princess_Aerial which I still have and LS_LadyWhisper_C which was sold a while back to Ant/Kaos Demon. But we would just party up the group of us from the chat room until situations sort of pulled us apart. And now that we've gotten sort of burnt out with the drama and theft we reopened our Rp clan on the chat server. So the LS has returned there.

I was over at my boyfriends, (now ex boyfriend) and he was playing this strange yet confusing looking game. but the more i watched him play, the more interested i got. but it wasnt until a few more weeks til he put it on my computer and got me playing. My first crit was Silver_dragoness. Fighter. Got her to lvl 22.... but then my parents banned me from it for a year. I got back on back in january of this year and started playing again. I remade silver_dragoness. shes a cleric lol. But tha's that. ;p

i told newb i was bored, he gave me the link, i dled it, and he dropped me in the arena i thought it was boring at first, but then i got into it and it ended up being pretty nifty. so i kept playing. ive been playing for almost a year and a half now. and thats why i hate newb, i miss life.

My brother (Sepherus) found it on some RPG site, then introduced me, Necronomicon, PurpleSmoke, Moonripper and several other people from our school into it. That was about 3/4 years ago (not sure the exact date )

Well I got you, Foundtain, Evenstar and Churchwood into the game... Foundtain got Ecstasy into the game.

Curunir(who at the time was Shockstorm) was why I got into the game too.

He kept going on and on about it sounding really enthusiastic... eventually I relented and joined too. I was a bit lost at first and people weren't particularly welcoming
I think the only reason I kept playing back then was because Arhain, Shockstorm and I... well we're competitive to say the least. We were continually trying to outlevel and out-explore each other, they were constantly trying to kill each other and as Styx I would heal them to annoy them.
I also had an arching of pacifist race going on with Curunir at the time... I beat him
At the same sort of time I got a fighter to arch too... and deleted it. I still can't remember why I did that >_< Can't restore it either as it was in another account of mine at the time and god only knows what the password to that was ^^;;

However now Shockstorm is my crit, and Curunir is mine thats on loan to his original name holder, whose main is now known as Carcharoth

So yes, I blame Carcharoth... who in turn would blame Arhain who in turn would blame Red(I think it was Red anyways- her ingame name was Blacknightwitch or somesuch)
I don't have a clue where she found it from though

Arhain and Red have both left now, Churchwood went inactive I believe... Foundtain has no internet access at the moment and Evenstar is away
Carcharoth still makes an appearance sometimes ^^
Crane and Ecstasy are still around at least ^^

Me and my friend were really bored with school because we were both sixth grade back then and we decided to look for RPGs to play on the net (in the school that is) and we had a few good ones here and there, until about a year and a half later, he told me about a game called Nightmist and said'Dude, you gotta check this out', so I did and it looked like a cool community itself (I had no idea who played the game [or even that it was made in the UK]. I started off by rolling a crit with crappy stats and it was pally I later deleted. Then I rolled a female mage called Samia and started talk to the people(It was weird). They seemed rather nice. but then something happened and I ended up deleting it. Then, I made Bowlin_Iii and here I am, 1 1/2 years later.
