alot of my friends can't live without a slew of cds to compliment thier every mood. so when i ask them what's thier favorite, the answer depends on the weather pretty much. so i made a hypothetical situation to pinpoint thier musical tastes. it's three questions, with three answers.

after an unsuccessfull military campaign you're stripped of the title of emperor and exiled to a tropical island. you're given preserves enough to last a life-time and a cd player powered by rechargable solar cells. you are only allowed to bring one album though, so you go through your collection and get the one cd you know will keep you happy through your exile. what album did you choose?

i chose soup, by blind melon. only thing i can listen to in any mood.

after a freak collision with an iceberg your fishing boat begins to sink. you see an island off in the distance and realize you can probably just barely make it if you change course right away. now you don't have flares but you do have a loud PA system. in hopes that the coast guard might hear you, you begin playing the album you think ought to attract attention to the island. what's the album?

this one never changes for me. 'number ones' michael jackson. it would work. i know it.

last one: during a luxurious cruise your boat gets hit by an airplane and you are the only survivor. while stranded on a desert isle you realize you're not alone and the natives are very scary and probably want to cook and eat you. luckily your cd collection survived the catastrophe along with another loud PA system. since these are your only possessions right now you decide to turn them against the natives and scare them from your side of the island. what cd do you play?

i'd put in the aphex twin come to daddy EP. i think it would work. can't think of anything else i own really.

so what'd you guys choose?

wouldn't it be funny if rich had registered this name first, and you were bickering with him?

Scenario 1: Five Guys Named Moe - Broadway Cast Recording.
Songs to suit everymood with every theme known to man, including sex, booze and chickens getting eaten by foxes.

Scenario 2: Setlla - Yello
Because hell, who doesn't think 'Oh Yeah' is an awesome song? They'll hear the totally hear the tune because of it's unique sound, almost pornographic, and be sure to get them to save me... shame it doesn't have 'How How' on it.

Scenario 3: Anything by Macy Gray.
Sh!t, I hate the sound of this womans voice. In fact, I'd rather eat glass than listen to 30 seconds of this vile beasts rasping hideous excuse for a voice. That's enough to scare anyone off.

Edit: Changed Scenario 3 to Macy Gray.

XIII, by Mushroomhead, for all three.

1. I love all of the songs on the CD, and don't think i'd get tired of it.

2. Most of the songs (If not all) are very loud.

3. Things being shouted at you in a different language... Scary. :)

scenario 1: Peter Maffay's World Tour Album (not sure of the exact name of the album since I lost the cover). German artist who made music with people from all over the world in their native language, quite amazing and a nice variety in sound.

scenario 2: Some AC/DC, sure to be heard from miles away.

scenario 3: I also have to agree with Deval. I've said for years that that woman sounds like a wannabe Tina Turner with a pillow pressed on her face. Second choice would be William Hung for obvious reasons.

Tupac's Greatest hits :)

Ahh, that's a good one, I love my Pac... but, I have to have a variety.. especially in this type of situation. I'd just bring burnt CDs. That should keep me entertained/occupied.

that's odd because i actually considered the downward spiral for my self-defense cd in the third scenario. if i heard mr. self destruct, the title track, or reptile it'd get my attention but i'd approach the island with a gun drawn. on a side note, further down the spiral even scarier.

Is Dir en Grey a secret language for 'Macy Gray'?

1. Dir en Grey is not a secret language, it's Japanese.
2. I...don't....know.

Unfortuantly, I only picked from albums I actually own, didn't want to pick if I didn't know the entire album.
