Put yourself in this situation:

Six months from now, you're looking to buy a real nice, new crit - Someone comes up trumps and says they're selling theirs, fresh roll too (or so you're led to believe). You snap it up, maybe paying more than you need to.
Now, the seller may have had that character for months, trained it in every class, and every class have had really poor HP or MP - It's an easy scam, and you're none-the-wiser when you buy it.

It isn't too much of a problem right now, but give it time and things will progress. In a year? How many characters would have been reset and done another class?

/crit history would bring up something like the following:
[name] has been leveled as:
Cleric: level-20 HP/MP-200/199
Fighter: level-14 HP-140
Thief: level-3 HP-39

I see where your coming from actually -

I didn't really know, but I take it from reading your posts, all crits keep the same hp levels up no matter how many times they reset?

If thats the case then i'd say yes to it being added.

By scrap that I hope you don't mean to scrap the idea. People still like to take advantage of others by leveling up their 5 stat, finding out it has bad hp, and selling like it's a level 1 that's never been leveled.

All that post really gets down to is that a crit get's a set # for each level up, that # is put into the formula for what ammount of hp the crit should get for that class. However, class changing doesn't change that set #. So if you make a thief and it gets bad hp, changing it to a zerker will get you different hp because of the different ammount of hp the classes get, but it will be proportionally bad due to having that same # put into 2 formulas....if you don't understand this..I don't really know what to say.

I REALLY think that making a list of the crits base #s is a good idea. Just like, 1 line straight across above where /reset goes in showstats or make a new command like /seed that people can have others show them /seed [character] and it shows the gains the crit has gotten in the past. (so a level 1 that has been level 16 would show so and not cause people to buy a level 1 doomed to terrible hp)

Oh, I wrote out a whole big thing explaining it, but then found JLH's post and what he said made more sense and was easier to understand.

The new hp system were for crits that got bad hp/ma, those crits have a choice wiether to reset and try and get better hp/ma then before. ONLY the crits that where around before the recent update can be reset and now newly created crits can't be reset. My point is, with in a year all the crits that were around since before the recent update will be reset, because with in a year those crits would be arch and those smart people would have waited to reset them till arch.

Note: I could be off topic here. Didn't read anyting past the second post.

Im not to sure about the idea of being able to look at the # needed for the equation and telling how much hp it will have at arch.....this just makes a 7th stat that is undetectible when rolled. Sure let it be added and be able to see what the charecter has been but dont give away what it will have at lvl30 when its only lvl20.

That isn't what I said at all. I proposed a system, where by, if a character gets leveled even once, it's recorded, so when it's reset you know what it got in that class at it's highest level - Preventing all problems previously stated.

That along with the fact that the hp it will have at arch is un-known when it is leveled. The hp isn't determined by the roller, it is random each time you click to level, not even JLH or Pandi can tell you what you'll have at arch...or at least they couldn't without doing some funny trick to set your hp...

wrong, that used to be the case, now it's all predetermined at roll time to stop people reseting the character on the website to try and get better hp/mp gains

I thought it was that you got a seed and hp was random, and it just saved the random gains you got....pre-determined hp that never can change...that kind of sucks...guess it's still random how much hp you'll get though.

I still think that there should be a command to see what the hp of highest level it has been was, or the gains it recieved during that time, people sell level ones as though they're new, but really they just know they're going to have bad hp, it shouldn't be like that...no one seems to think it should at least.

hurm this wouldkinda be like a back ground check type thing.

this would be useful in many ways but it would also be abusive cause then you would know just about how much it would get as a berserker or as a ranger or thief. I like the idea but with the people that play today people would rape you tryingot get you to sella 5 stat hfling for 300k when you could get way more for it. even thou it has a bad history. i really think that maximum stats need tobe reduced by half on all races soo that people get the true fill on there characters
