This is how it should work:

Searching account xxx for item cobalt...

Character Renegade, slot Weapon, contains cobalt Staff of the Winds,
Account vault, space 31, contains cobalt Bow
The Resistance vault 1, space 77, contains cobalt Staff of the Winds,
The Resistance vault 3, space 13, contains cobalt Staff of the Winds,
Desperate Housewives vault 3, space 56, contains cobalt Staff of the Winds,

5 results found.

The search should find all items in the account vault, as well as all items in clan vaults that you potentially have access to. So if I have a crit with founder+ status in TR, and another with founder+ in DHW, then it will also search through all clan vaults in those houses (even though they may technically "belong" to other people, I still could access them if I wanted to or was a thief!)

I dont know if it would be possible to do clan vaults , but I support it looking through the account vault. :)

Supported for account vaults. Clan vaults would be far too problematic.

I guess it's too hard to log on a character in an acct and go look in the vault?

It seems only needed for characters really, that's the only place they should really get lost.

It's easy enough to log on characters to check if there wearing an item as it is to log on a character run to a vault and look :)

I thought it already searched account vaults...
It is useful to have though.

And it cannot search random vaults that you own since the game doesn't recognize those as belonging to an account.
I wouldn't support trying to make it happen either, due to the fact that bugs could end up showing things they shouldn't, etc.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about clan vaults (although I don't see why it wouldn't be possible).

Because a clan adding a square to the game doesn't connect it to an account at all?
Like, the server has no way of recognizing the vault as your's.

If it were possible to set it to an account, founders or chairpersons could set vaults to themselves, thus see what other people had in them without having to change passwords, etc.
It could also cause bugs or the sort, which could lead to some players getting really upset.

In my opinion, adding something so complicated as to set certain grids to accounts is a bit extravagant, and it would be the only way to handle the sort.
I have at least 10 clan vaults (literally) that are used by only me, with some organization designs and the sort, it isn't too bad to keep track of things.

But does it take as long to check 50 characters in the same account as it is to go to the vault and look?

Yea, the original function is VERY useful.
I personally have characters in several accounts, and in my main account especially, it isn't easy to keep track of items.

I have had spare SGs, Blades of Time, and especially Gauntlets of Virtue, that just kind of pop up on me...it is good to be able to check equip using the function, like which characters in which accounts are using which gloves...

Cause I'm looking at training up clerics if I ever get enough time on morts to bother, and it makes it much easier to just load my cleric account and see which ones are short on wis mods, rather than loading all of them and slowly going through to see who has on what, and where to find the spares.
