Sometime within the next week, the following changes will be made on the NM1a server. There changes do not apply to NM-multi.
These changes are being introduced to keep NM-1a an interesting game to play over the long term.
1) All boss monsters will be made kill-to-pass. When boss creatures can be killed with hit-and-run techniques, there is no challenge to them and equipment makes its way into game too rapidly.
2) All towns and outposts except Nightmist will have a kill-to-pass creature at all entrances. Gate training is making experience far too easy to gain with little or no risk.
3) The +20 exp bonus for healing undead will be removed. While this makes sense in multi-alt, in a single alt game this unbalances the classes.
4) Guilds and equipment will be re-balanced between the towns. Easy to reach towns (Resthaven, Arilin) will have lower-level equipment and guilds than difficult to reach locations (Blackthorn, Jahanna). This is both to make the game friendlier to new players and a result of the rebalancing of kill-to-pass locations.
We have elected not to shut down the server while these changes are being made. As a result, there may be times when a specific guild or shop item is unavailable. These changes will take quite a bit of our effort so please refrain from yelling constantly asking about what has or has not changed. We won't tell you. Go explore and find out.

Guilds for levels 1-30 have now found their new locations.
Some guilds are in their old familiar places and some have moved elsewhere. Guilds are grouped based on level. For example, all guilds level 1-9 are in or near Nightmist and all guilds level 10-14 are now in or near Resthaven.
In the next few days, equipment in Blackthorn, Arilin, and Resthaven will be shuffled around and guilds for level 31+ will be introduced.

Most equipment has been moved to the appropriate towns based on the new guild locations. Note that once you outgrow a town, you will need to move on to the next town to find equipment there. (For example, you can level up to 10 in Nightmist, but you will need to go to Resthaven to find equipment that has a minimum level of 10.)
Oddities sold only in Harabec, Kantele, or other places are still sold in those locations.

Guilds for levels 31-35 are now open for all classes. There is a cost associated with leveling for each level above 30. You will need to discover these costs in game.
The two characters who previously leveled to 31 will be required to pay the cost (in the appropriate guild) for level 31 before the level 32 guild for clerics will be opened.
