Due to my time constraints, some changes will happen on Nightmist.
Recently a big theft has sparked Trevayne and Azure's interests to clean up the game, as it is something I don't have time for.
So, from this point on. They are in charge of all theft in the game, and can deal out whatever punishment they feel fit, and resolve it in a manner they deem to be fair.
As a consequence, my previous stance on theft is now made partly redundant by the following new policy.
As much as we have tried to prevent the sharing of accounts and passwords, this has become rampant within Nightmist. While we still encourage users to not give out their passwords under any circumstances, realize that if you do, the following rules will be in effect:
Any time you willingly give someone the password to your account, you are in effect giving them the right to cause the entire account to be destroyed.
If there are disputes about the contents of a shared account, you will try to resolve the problem yourself.
Any time staff are asked to become involved in an account theft, at least one half of the account may be permanently deleted and not returned to anyone. The staff will determine what (if anything) from the remaining half will be returned and who it will be returned to.
Willful acts of theft may result in the forfeiture of your right to be a player on Nightmist and may result in the permanent deletion or modification of any and all other accounts that you have access to.
We hope that this policy will make the penalty for anti-social behavior both clear and easy to enforce. If you steal, you will not gain anything and may lose whatever else you have. If you share, you are taking the risk that at least half of all you share will be forfeit.
You can contact Trevayne@Nightmist-Online.co.uk or Azure@Nightmist-Online.co.uk to discuss theft.
