Basically, because of the large increase in polls created to serve no other purpose than to raise the player's post count, I think it's a good idea that we come up with some guide-lines. The reason I think a guide would be useful, is so that players can read it if they wish to create a sensible poll, and forum mods can read it and remove any posts that do not meet the necessary terms.
I'll list what I can think of, and you can add to it as you wish - If admin see it fit, they may want to sticky it or whatever.
I don't think polls should be too general. Do -insert clan name- suck?
YES
YES as an example...
I don't think polls should be used to gather information that could be easily found elsewhere (on a fan website, help pages etc) - Where do I find the General?
Near Arilin
Dunno
Over there .......
Using a poll system when it would be far easier to ask the question........ What's your favourite place to train?
Barracks
Sewers
Petes
Ok there is nothing wrong with asking the question, but what is the point of making a poll when you can't possibly fit every single training area in the game on the list.
On another note, a few suggestions of good uses for polls....
Starting a poll on a popular suggestion thread......... More hp for fighters?
Yes, Atleast 20+ more
Keep it the same
Reduce it 10+ (example)
A weekly poll on the best area idea on the development forum..........
Tadpoles idea
Squiggles idea
Etc
I'd also say polls are fine in the off topic forum obviously.

Alone does not spam. Have you read his posts? They all have something to do with the topic. You might as well say I spam.
Also, Stigmata, great work. I think you covered everything that needed to be said.

I like your ideas here.. But it's obvious, as with the current set of rules. They won't be followed.. And people will cry if their post/poll gets deleted.
Good to see you've put some effort into this however, any direct guidelines you can think of?
I'd suggest going with such things as -runs to note current ToS layout-
Polls not seen to be useful to the Forum will be removed without prior notification.
Members seen to be posting for no other reason than to get their own post count up will find their post count nulled. (make sense?)
Just two ideas.. Hope I'm not spamming
EDIT:
Changed to make it more readable.

Even if they are not followed, it just makes things a lot clearer for staff and players, when removing such polls.

That it does. I hope it gets put in a pop up or something like that when you start a poll etc.
Maybe just be on the page for creating a 'new poll'.
Good work there noOb hater
I'll see what I can do
