I had no idea who this person was when l I came across the CNN article and read what happened. They should've had security there as it would only seem smart at any sort of an event like that and apparently didn't. There's too many psychos out there. ^.^ I don't live too far from the city it happened in and once again I don't feel as safe.

For those who haven't heard (possibly fans) and might seem to be interested. . .

Thumbs up dude. You spelt his name wrong. It was Darrell.

And, have I seen him 'played' ?
Unfortuantly no. But I can still tell you what I liked about his playing, and probably the thing everyone likes. He was innovative and original in almost every aspect of what he did.

I've seen him live, and as alone said he's creative and original, as well as being extremely quick and heavy (playing styles )

I was extremely shocked and upset when I read the whole artical, as it's such a mindless thing for someone to do considering double D probably never even saw it coming.

He is a legend when it comes to heavy metal, and he will be missed!

R.I.P Dimebag, thanks for the music.

DamagePlan was just here in Tallahasse, FL where i live. Crazy stuff. Dont know if its true or not but ive heard that right before he shot him he said...you broke up Pantera, you ruined my life. Or something to that affect. Anyways, its a sick sad world out there. I have a child on the way and its things like this that sadden me. Ill be afraid for my child to even go to concerts when they are a little older because of psychos like this. Anyways, may he rest in peace.

I saw it on the news and I thought it was really tragic.

I am not in favor of all gun control, but I am in favor of the use of metal detectors in public areas such as nightclubs and concerts. I have seen too many weapons during concerts and In nightclubs to feel safe anymore.
If they arent using metal detectors at the door and checking bags. coats and purses then I don't want to be there. There are too many nutcases running around with guns, knives and even pipe bombs.

Such a shame another talented musician is murdered in cold blood.

Only in America.......

"Lets let every idiot and his dog have a gun or 3"

Only way this kind of thing will stop is if you in someway or somehow get a government with brains.

jared, dont be turnin this into another gov't arguement. yes, this couldve had something to do with it, but that doesnt mean that someone in any other country cant go get a gun... find someone they hate for some odd reason and shoot them. just because some loonys had a gun and shot an awesome guitarist, doesnt mean everyone that has a gun will use it for this purpose.

bottom line is, metal detectors and all need to be placed at every public area where big events are held. and because this was not done to begin with, a great guitartist was lost.

There are so many gothic people, or people who dress "gothic" and have big F*king pants with chains all over them and sh*t that go to concerts...it would be way to much of a hassle to have metal detectors or searching people.

but yes, I don't understand how someone could kill such a man...I don't understand how someone could kill anyone for that matter...

EDIT: btw, this post has nothing against gothic people lol, just so u all know that.

Don't think I had heard any Damageplan, which I will rectify shortly.

My gawd, but what a waste of awesome talent.

Just think of all the great bands that were directly influenced by DD and Pantera, Slipknot and Korn to mention just 2! And now think of all the music in the future that wont get written cas a major, influential powerhouse was wasted by some no-life trash.

In the world of metal, its probably the equivalent of Lennon being shot.

Damn but the cops wasted the f**ker (sorry language, but I think its appropriate). I wish I could fly to the states to kick his scumbag corpse a few times!

oops... sorry for the misspelled of his name. but yeah he was great and thunderja is right, the US gov. is the worst. Al Gore wanted to change that and take all guns away so there wouldn't be any kind of shooting, but every hillbilly chose for the guy who is president of the NRA.

but the ironic this is that i got my issue of guitar world 2 days after it happen and in the magazine was an poster saying "Pantera: regroup" and it gave out the dates but now there won't be a regroup.

blame the gov't for someone's stupidity.... hmm.... yeah, thats a fast solution!!! but dont think of the retard who got the gun, and thought... "hey, im gonna blame the break up of pantera on dimebag since he is comming to town. i think ill shoot him." that is just as stupid as sayin the gov't is to blame. all your doing is finding a fast solution to a crime of pure stupidity.

if stupidity was illegal, i think we would have to build a country to send practically everyone to. then the rest of the people thats left would be bored because they would have no entertainment.

dont say US gov't is crap because its not like theres any gov't better than the other. IT ALL SUX!

EDIT: spelling

the US gov. is the worst. Al Gore wanted to change that and take all guns away so there wouldn't be any kind of shooting, but every hillbilly chose for the guy who is president of the NRA.

al gore was a wuss, had he gotten in as president,he would have made america bend over, pull down its pants and have sign say,"Please F**k us"

and u say "hillbillys" voted for the president of the NRA,now thats not fair,im from the south and we own 2 guns where i live,a revolver and a rifle, but i don't want to join up with the NRA,the guns we have are for PROTECTION,from thieves and coyotes.

u saying every hillbilly and guns,i could put that every raghead in the Muslim world will blow themselves up in the name of God.

and yes,it was sad to lose Dimebag,he was up there with Randy Rhodes.

REST IN PEACE DIME

go ahead and bash me and this post,i could care less.

I can and will blame everything on the American government because I actually can.... I live in a country of freedom. What are you going to do, declare war on me because I'm a terrorist lol?

Anyway I originally went off topic, sorry. Carry on like nothing had happened.

Security Guards decked out in Riot Gear. Couples and sometimes just some hooker having Pre-marital sex in the middle of the mosh pit...
