Phobos was resurrected here, after being killed by thirst.

so it took about 8 minutes and 30 secs or so for me to die.

Well, I cant really say that I want to post anything against it, simply because of course i dont want my crits to die from hunger, that just sucks..bad, but the way it is is definatly too much damage.  I think the time it takes to get hungry should be increased some and the intervals could be changed a little or something...make it harder to get hungry while still having it dish out a fair ammount of damage once a person is hungry.
 
It makes sense for it to do more and more because you get more hungry and weaker, but i dunno...cant say my opinion isn't bias.

Yes I believe it's definitely much to harsh.
 
I tend to get distracted easily and often forget that I have NM running.  Such as today I was doing stuff in paint and I come back to find myself in the Boars Tusk after dying from thirst. ^.^ Sure it's funny the first time but after awhile it's going to get annoying.
 
Also I think sitting in one place would get one less thirsty/hungry than moving around.  Wink

say...10% of the current hp (round down)...with that, player can never die because of hunger if he/she stay in town.....
if he/she is hunting, it will give them a higher chance of dying.

That sounds fairly good...but maybe have it start at .5-1%ish or vary due to hp to start and increase as you were hungry longer.  Cause hunger starting off by hurting my cleric for 32 and zerker for 53 is kind of harsh imo.  Also kind of gives different classes a different type of difficulty with hunger (higher hp makes hunger worse, that doesnt really seem fair either)

Maybe rangers/druids can forage for food anywhere. Most parties have rangers and clerics, therefore clerics can create spring anywhere, so let foragers look for food everywhere. This would combat certain disagreements, and offer a form of survival.
 
Forage wouldn't work inside towns.

not all parties have rangers...i got no rangers above lvl 17 atm, so going desert for me is a bit of a mission, unless i have a thief covert stashed with food, n use my cleric for water..? hmm, idea

lol basically what I'm trying to say is...let the monster you kill drop its corpse (sometime).  You can eat it if you're hungry.  The corpse will disappear after ...say.....5mins? or 10 mins? or maybe lesser than that.  
 
Different corpse will do one other different things(other than stoping the hunger).  Some will make you sick.  Some will maybe act as a healing/mana potion.  Some with magical property will maybe enhance your stat for 1min or so.... so on and so on...(some meat will be juicy and stop you from being thirsty)....Kinda reminded me of deers

n i actually took 4 fighters and slaughtered about 700 bunnies one day...took me just over an hour, the meadow was virutally clear =D
 
(i felt sorry for em, always sniffling, i thought they had a cold)

maybe if the interval is increase say every 1.5 min from the time hungery or thirsty the damage increases.  but you can live without food for longer then water so maybe the food damage when hungery could increase by .5 but starts at 1 and water would increase by 1 starting at 1.  As you can live weeks I think it is 2 weeks without food but you can only live around 3 days without water.  This will make it a little more to perspective and make it not as devistating.  To even make it more logical if you are hungery and thirsty it will only increase by say around 1.2 every 1.5 min.  these numbers could be adjusted just a idea I though of while reading the complaints.
