For some of us, going AFK for 10 minutes or more happens almost every day. Whether that's because of work, kids, or other real-life committments. Change this back.

it took them 10 minutes to die? what was their hp...remmeber every alt has diff hp, so obviously its gonna vary due to hp...so for my low levels, they prolly will last 2 mins, if that, n i train alot of low levels, so i cant keep a good eye on em every 10 secs to see if they hungry
i say change it back

Because generally when you go to explore a new island or a desert and you Don't take food/water... you tend to die.

There is no definite sense of time in Nightmist, but if your crits are out training in the desert, for hours, they are going to get hungry and thirsty. Unhealthily hungry and thirsty. I think we have all been so ucky that it has taken this log for hunger and thirst to actually reflect some of the actual damage it can really cause.

Hey, I'm not arguing with this... my paci would make friends with people in no time 
Similarly you could ask Druids to 'nourish' you and that solves both problems. Or if its just the thirst being a problem, the Cleric can always 'create spring' in times of need
Maybe it'll make people be nicer to each other eh? 
I'm a nice person, so I'd be willing to be nice and helpful... but the money might be a better incentive for some 
But I have to wonder... I know people need pots and all, but it'd take what, two inventory slots  Is it really that hard to carry food and water around?

See, I understand this but making it eat up your hp so drastically is a bit unrealistic..

Ok, but it wasn't 'hours' it was 10 minutes and bam an archmaster with 290+ hp is dies..now THAT doesn't make sense.

All it calls for is some attention to crits, if you feel like going afk for while, then go eat before you leave, then ur crit will be fine.

the first time it appears, no damage is done.
after that, the damage done is 1, then 2, then 3.
the formula for this is n(n+1)/2 so after 10 30s intervals (5 minutes) you will have lost 10*11/2=55hp (10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1).
after 20 30s intervals (10 mins) you will have lost 20*21/2=210hp
too harsh, maybe, i'm prepared to make it go twice as long if pandilex agrees, ie the damage would increase every 2 intervals, (every minute) instead of every 30 seconds.
