New Spell: Battle Fog

This spell can only be cast in meadows, plains, forests and deserts. It is a level 28-30 spell. This spell "summons" some fog. This affects the square it is cast on and all the squares around it. For example, if it was cast on crossroads south of Arilin, it would affect the crossroads square and the four squares around it. Also affects the squares below, but not the ones above the square it was cast on. The fog affects: -Chance of missing: 20% -Chance of hitting a random person/monster in the square: 10% (even if they are nopked) -Description of area, you can't see a thing. -Movement, just like if you were drunk, you don't know where you're going -All pics turn into a blur. This affects every monster or player in the square. Including the druid. Lasts for 40 seconds. Costs 50 mana. The mana is drained every five seconds, just like a morph, but it only lasts for the max ammount of time (40 secs) and drains to the max ammount of mana (50). If you run out of mana, it vanishes. If you cast it and it vanishes (for duration or mana), you can't cast it again for four minutes. Count down starts right after you cast it, and not when it vanishes. P.S. Spy glass doesn't work in the fog. This is a suggestion, so I would like to know your opinion.

| That, I believe, is inaccurate. The "mist" should affect areas above, not below.

Being 'mist' it would be more dense and thus form a layer above the ground, that's what I think he was getting at.

Nice idea but did you take into account the Berserk/Rapid fire skill being used in your fog and someone killinga clan member or nopked party member. That part i cant agree with but the rest makes for a solid idea.

It does make sense that you could hit a nopked person because it's fog and you can't see who you are attacking. I like this idea except why would there be fog in a desert? Deserts are dry which means no moisture and no fog. Unless it would be sand storm instead of fog. Also it would make sense to work anywhere where there's water, such as sewers perhaps? Edit: typos

| It's magic. It makes no difference if the area is dry or wet, the spell will still work.

| Well ok since its magic why won't grasping vines work anywhere?? Hmmm?? Druids can control nature to a certain extent and use their environment to help them, not completely alter it. They would need to take the moisture from somewhere to create the mist... even if they somehow got the water from an oasis or somthing, the hot dry desert heat would evaporate it.

The reason druids can't cast grasping vines anywhere is because it uses the 'roots' of vines to grow new ones, and make them attack people. So they can't cast it anywhere because there might not be roots. But, this spell wouldn't need to have any fog there, it just summons it.

| Dude apparently you havent been playing this game very long. Druids were the basis of a major update which made them a more experienced magic user than a mage. To say noone cares about them is just wrong.

No it wouldn't, and I've already explained why. Edit: Guess I'll explain again. The magic summons the fog in, and the magic keeps it there. It makes no difference if theres moisture there or not.

I think the Druid class is cared about or it would have been removed. Casting a Fog in a desert is a bit hard to believe. Why not switch desert with swamp? It would be ALOT more resonable.

It would only be in the shallow stream area because swamps are lvl 25 and under and this spell is 28-30. And I still say fog in the desert makes no sense.

I've given a reason as to why it would work in the desert, and personally I think its a good one. But think about it, if you can only cast this in the shallow stream then wtf is the point in it?

I was mentioning the shallow stream in regards to Conn's swamp idea. Not saying it should only be casted there. OK... fog is made of water vapor, you need moisture to have this. Assuming the druid takes the moisture from the desert plants, clouds, or oasis, the heat would instantly evaporate it. Now your saying the druid should be able to control the scorching heat so that it doesn't evaporate? Even if this is possible somehow, why would the druid want to take the needed moisture from the plants or the clouds? The plants would die and the clouds would not have enough moisture to produce rain and refil the oases. No oasis, no water for the animals. This would disrupt the entire desert ecosystem. Druids=protecting nature not destroying.
