Exceptionally large even for a troll, Gristle seems to have come prepared for a meal, brandishing an oversized dinner fork as a surprisingly effective weapon. The tiny black pits that are his eyes glaze over and his enormous jaw sags open as he watches you approach.

==Attacks and abilities==
The Herald of the Damned attacks you directly with a Barbed Pitchfork, although it can be dodged or blocked, but his greatest threat comes from his horn, which overwhelms a target character with evil on the sound of its note; the resultant damage requires at least two doses of Paladin Aid, which is where the main challenge arises. To successfully take on Herald of the Damned requires Paladins to take a role normally reserved for Clerics, while Berserkers deal most of the damage - not having enough Paladins results in not being able to out-heal the Herald's damage, while having too few Berserkers makes for a very long fight.
