aww .. and i forgot .... what's better to use as equipment (for a mage with stats xx 21 19 18 20 xx):
#1 with gloves of vigor
is a Male Elf Archmaster Mage. He looks strong, very wise, fast, and sexy. In one hand he holds a Hydra Thorn, the other a Wooden Bracers. He is wearing a Robe of Storms, and a Circlet protects his head. Around his neck sits a Cats Eye Amulet. He has a Hook and a Hook around his wrists. He is wearing a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, and Gloves of Vigor on his hands. His feet are protected by Boots of Time.

To answer your first question, Int affects your spell damage - nothing else. Wisdom will determine how much MP you will gain on leveling up and how much you resist other spells.
Second, personally, I'd go with armour over dexterity (especially at your level). AoP combined with a lot of armour can mean a lot more to you than a few points in dexterity.

Gloves of Vigor and Spider Gauntlets give the same armour count anyway.
Only base Wisdom affects your MP on level up - personally, I would go with the Gloves of Vigor for more Magic Resistance. Aura of Protection should give you enough armour to protect you from melee attacks, and Mages rarely use their staff anyway.

Boots of Faith will allow you to not sacrifice the dexterity, but the armor is significantly less thant boots of time. the dex you lose fro boTs isn't gong to hurt you as much when you have 150+ armor and you cant be touched anyways.

Go for the Cats Eye Amulet and Spider Gauntlets. Personally I think it's a complete waste putting wisdom modifiers onto a mage. This is simply because with 19 wisdom or 21 wisdom the mage is going to get rounded by another mage anyway.
Also for boots, I'd agree go for armor over dex to a certain extent, but why not have both. Vindicator boots are 4ac, Boots of time are 6ac, with vindicator boots you also don't lose 1 dex, and in my opinion 1 dex > 2 ac (5ac with AoP).
