It really gets to be a pain when trying to run a mosh in a Clan Arena, as members can simply push the 'stop attacking' button any time during it, messing up the whole event. We have a 9-square arena that rarely gets used due to this happening every time a mosh is run. Would it be possible to add a founder command that could hide the 'stop attacking' button in clan house?

Any opinions for/against?

can you even say that word??? but if you get clan founder to hide the stop attacking button, then wouldn't that kinda suck when there are no founders online to hide or show the attack button... wouldn't be better to add a command box to the arena that turns that square into an arena mosh. All it would do is that when all crits but one dies it will turn on the stop attack...

let me put it in better wording... it would be just like a normal server mosh. When all is dead but the winner, an message will be shown to all members of the clan that [players name] has won the clan mosh.

I'm still sticking to my guns of getting clan members who aren't stupid.

sayadin, I was suprised too, but 'cabbage' isn't a filtered word.. -waits for it to be added to the filter-

:P cabbage is, but twats isn't. That's odd as normally any part of a work that links to a swear word is changed, such as ilikenutsmen.

I like the idea of a chairman being able to toggle the arena buttons.
It is his clan so he can choose whether to have them or not.
I don't like the idea of all founders being allowed it as anyone who has the ability can do the same thing you're trying to stop.

since the button only affects the square you are on anyway, won't really stop it as such

True, but it does stop you from dying. And if you are one of those clannies who likes to muck around, it does not take much effort to visit every mosh square and click STOP.

I support the idea of sparring arenas being controlled globally by the chairman or founder, but I feel that it should be a new room (No XP-loss mosh arena?) rather than regular sparring arenas, as a clan may still want the regular ones, even if a clan mosh event is running.

i could make it so that when you click stop/go on 1 sparring arena it automatically happens on all sparring arenas connected to it maybe, support required.

Will it also affect sparring arenas adjacent to those adjacent to the one which had the STOP button clicked? (tongue-twisted!) Think of minesweeper when you click on a square with no surrounding mines.

I'm not sure about this one, because someone can stop the mosh out of spite and everyone heal up before it is started again.

To be honest, you cannot really run a proper mosh in sparring arenas. The STOP/GO has to be controlled remotely for it to work effectively without a contender to spoil it - have it all stopped so you can let all the contenders enter the arena, and call GO (after /mumble key'ing the exit) when everyone is ready. Those are my thoughts anyway, hence why I feel that a new mosh-like arena clan room be introduced that can be controlled remotely by a chairman-only (or founder-and-above-only) command like "/clan mosh go" and "/clan mosh stop".

I think it'd be a bad idea, what if there's an event going on where individuals are dueling, one fight ends and the winner accidently hits the Stop button without thinking? The arena next will stop too, meaning that fight will have to start over.

The whole point of this topic has shifted... the point was to give someone the ability to hide the 'stop attacking' button, not to make it easier for someone to stop the mosh... And I like Oracle's idea of having the chairman have the ability to toggle it.

I don't like JLH's idea as proper duels could be interrupted genuinely by other people having proper duels.

I stick with what I said. Have the chairman be able to turn them all on or off. If he is a good chairman, he could choose what to do for the clan by getting the members to vote etc. Makes more sense to me.

edit: Making the chairman command change all the arena squares in the clan would probably be best.

the count down button should just stop attacking for those 5 seconds, besides that, you shouldnt be able to stop attacking.

I agree that the chairman should be able to type in a command to make all No-XP Loss Sparring Arena squares inside the clanhouse lose the buttons. Or, if possible, only the chairman could push the buttons in the first place, or after he toggles the buttons. Of course, the problem is that chairmen are not always on so the founders probably need to be able to as well.

what if the chairman is never on, but only 3 times a week?? why not a founder and a chairman have power over that? The idea is supported by me, and its great that the whole arena will work with one command, you may not have a chairman who comes on every now and then because he is gone with friends, a love, or even a job... so please reconsider.

In my humble, humble opinion, a good chairperson who knew they could not be there to supervise and maintain a clan would simply pass it off to a trusted founder.
