I've come up with a working idea (inspired by Kayla's quest) to provide a bit more interest for new players/provide something to do while they are learning the game/leveling up. Coupled with Melchior's Arena suggestion: http://www.nightmist...showtopic=38584

Adventurer’s Hall

Purpose-

To help create a more attractive system by which new players may find more interest in staying. This is achieved through two outlets: 1) Using items already in place, players may trade X number of items for quest tokens, leading to experience rewards, 2) Melchior’s suggestion of arena’s more conducive to safe levelling for new players.

 

Synopsis-

Crazy Pete has amassed a fortune through his underground brawling rings. Unknowingly possessing a business savvy, Crazy Pete’s empire has suddenly grown across the land. Untold riches have added to his repertoire; with warriors of valour, priests of great renown and mages of the highest order eating out of his hand. Through a network of elaborate designs, Crazy Pete has established centres in cities throughout the realm in an effort to attract the young and naive to his cause- personal wealth.

 

Quests-

Each Adventurer’s Hall is operated by a quest master. When particular items are given to the quest master, players will be awarded with a token, granting access to chests containing experience rewards.

 

                Items accepted:

                Alt levelling items (10x) (venom gland, bear fur, demonic blood, bat flesh, etc)

                Rare item drops

                Low level boss drops

Examples: head of aglon, tattered robes, blade of sacrifice, centipede gloves, crocodile skin boots, arthropod mask, silken gloves, crimson staff, shield of faith, fancy short sword, scarlet dagger, spider staff, great axe, hydra thorn, jagged lance, etc…

 

Based on a scale of level of difficulty, rarity and relevant character level, experience rewards will increase.

                For example, centipede gloves can be farmed by a high level easily and is not difficult to kill for a low level so the reward is minimal. The blade of sacrifice not only has a low level access but generally requires a group to retrieve so the reward is much greater. The spider staff is not overly difficult for the right class, but the drop is fairly rare so the reward is adjusted accordingly.

 

Arenas-

Underneath each Adventurer’s Hall is a Grandmage, employed by Crazy Pete to open a portal for a young adventurer to a unique arena with a safe levelling alternative (as suggested by Melchior). The conjured arena in each city is tailored specific levels (as discussed later)

 

 Adventurer’s Halls

There are 5 locations found in Nightmist, Resthaven, Arilin, Blackthorn and Harabec. Each location requires a further tier of ring to enter, but gives greater reward/accepts higher tiered items. Higher tiered rings grant continued access to lower tiers. Halls are level locked above 30.

 

                Nightmist, level 10:

Entry- Silver Band of the Adventurer (0ac, level 10, single equip). Give 1000 gold money order to NPC on entrance to receive. Grants entry.

Questmaster grants tokens that access 100,000 exp reward.

 

                Resthaven, level 15:

Entry- Gold Band of the Adventurer (0ac, level 15, single equip). Give Silver Band of the Adventurer, 5000 gold money order to NPC on entrance to receive. Grants entry.

 

Questmaster grants tokens that access 250,000 exp reward.

 

                Arilin, level 20:

Entry- Jewelled Band of the Adventurer (0ac, level 20, single equip). Give Gold Band of the Adventurer, 10000 gold money order to NPC on entrance to receive. Grants entry.

 

Questmaster grants tokens that access 500,000 exp reward.

 

                Blackthorn, level 25:

Entry- Band of the Grand Adventurer (1ac, level 25, single equip). Give Jewelled Band of the Adventurer, 25000 gold money order to NPC on entrance to receive. Grants entry.

 

Questmaster grants tokens that access 1,000,000 exp reward.

 

                Harabec, level 28:

Entry- Questmaster’s Signet (3ac, level 28, single equip). Give Band of the Grand Adventurer, Crystal Ring to NPC on entrance to receive. Grants entry.

 

Questmaster grants tokens that access 2,000,000 exp reward.

I like this idea over all but it seems like nightmist lacks help with builders and much lies on the shoulders of a few so simple is better IMO.

It's a decent start for the the idea, it would need to be tweaked some though.
