Basically, To help combat the hunger problem perhaps Clerics could learn the Fasting Ability/Spell that when used, increases the period of time the user can go without food.

Shouldn't be able to be cast on other users/crits, but it seems to fit in with a cleric's profile.

Yes springs are fine and dandy but this also deals with the whole eating issue as well

What I meant was that they are fine with creating springs. A spell like this would just be like nourish. Kind of. Just use a Druid.

Nourish:
Castable on everyone.
Refreshes their hunger/thirst.

Fast:
Castable on Cleric only.
Slows the rate at which you become hungry.

The only thing they have that's similar is that they're both focused at the Hunger/Thirst thing..

I like the idea, however, it'll just become another 'must cast' before going anywhere. Just like everyone eats n drinks before a long trip (I do before every trip, but I'm just wierd).

Sounds like a good idea overall. But I have one question about it. How much longer would it prolong the anti-hunger stage?

And...

Would you have to recast it once you logged off and on again?

Why would someone use it if it can only be cast on the cleric, I don't see a lot of people going on trips with just a cleric and the others will still get hungry. So you have to have a druid or eat again anyways...

Or have some food on each crit if you do not have a druid. Eh?

Could Fast possibly give the user a means of staving off the hunger being based on half the current amount that hunger causes being removed from your mana,

So just like hunger slowly doubles in damage to crit, this spell would use half or 2/3rd's of that amount in mana.

The cleric would eventually run out of mana, as the amount used was increased with each time period,

And if it runs out of mana you'ld revert back to the same amount of hunger damage to your hp's, thus ensuring a quick death.
