What does it mean exactly if a weapon is magical? (Enchanted Bow, Ivory Dagger etc.)

(This isn't very good for someone who has ambitions to be staff one day!)

Some monsters/bosses are set so that they may only be hurt by magical weapons, such as the crystal giant... well that's the only one I can think of at the moment. Someone once told me magical weapons also ignore armor, but I extremely... EXTREMELY doubt that, seeing as Rangers don't do a whole load of damage to me.

The description of the Ivory Dagger gives the impression that it can pierce armour. Thanks for that information - sorry if I have insulted anyone with something as simple as that!

It's a confusing subject, as you'll have probably noticed with the other threads.

Magical is just a stat name that will allow the weapon to damage certain monsters who have been set to only be effected by a weapon with the 'Magical: Yes.'

It has no relation to anything magical, and the descriptions of the weapons should be ignored totally, as they hold no relation to the weapon damaging certain monsters.

Being subjective, I do not agree with that remark at all. V_V;;

At the moment "Magical Weapons" only mean one thing, you can use them at the crystal giant. I know you can use spider staffs at the Spider King, however its not the staves magical qualities that allows this as you can't use any other magical weapon there.

I personally think magical should hold more meaning, for example create more magical monsters or bosses.

I think there is one magical monster in Necro' tower, the gargoyle requires a magical weapon to kill it but appart from Christmas blade, spider staff is the only weapon you can take in there, so Im not sure if magical weapons is required to kill it or again just spider staff.

There are several monsters in game that can be harmed only by "Magical" weapons or another avenue other than attacking with a "regular" weapon. The reason behind them, from what I have seen, is due to the story that is presented within any given area. Without giving out too many clues because I don't want to ruin it for those that wish to learn and explore on their own, I know of 3 additional monsters that can be harmed only by a "magical" weapon or other "magic" other than the Crystal Giant and Spider King. Perhaps there are more. I hope so, will keep exploring to find out. :)

Good Day,

And its vampiric weapons that harm the Spider King. Hence why the Spider Staff, Dagger of the Winds, Cobalt Staff of the Winds, etc, etc, etc, hurts him.
