I think it should be made to where Pacifists can't drag monsters along with them. I was trying to train in dungeons, the room of haunt specifically. When a paci came along and decided he didn't want me to train and started dragging wall crawlers and pained spirits all over me. A rather childish thing to do, if you have a problem with me training there log your party and try to kill me. Don't drag a bunch of crap around to kill me do it the old fashioned way.

IMO it was a fair point and only got locked because of people being idiots...

I agree with this.
Pacifists have harmed areas like Frostborn and Chronos by dragging monsters around.
Frostborn's monsters no longer follow anything (making it a bit easy), and Chronos has pacis locked out.

I think we'd be well off making pacifists not drag monsters while under Greater Pact. In that case the monsters can't hit them anyway, so I don't see why they would have monsters following them.

well, greater pact stops them from getting hit, however that protection doesnt stop the monsters from following them getting ready 2 strike for when the effects of GP run out. While GP is on paccy's are protected not invisible.

in other news. Supported.

Supported...but don't let them back into chronos. The abuse was for reasons other than dragging monsters (people leaving alts in temple, then running pacifist to temple with mana over and over again).

It only makes sense that pacifists don't drag. They are designed as an anti combat class and therefore shouldn't have the facility to cause others to find themselves in combat situations.

They made them able to walk past kill to pass monsters and grasping vines. If there is no explanation needed for that, then there's no explanation needed for not dragging monsters with them, except it would improve the game.

Edit: Very Supported ^_^

Haha, yeah they can go past kill to pass stuff, but they can't drag monsters cuz monsters would follow even if they were protected.

picture it this way

Pacifist (to Torturer): I need to get through here please.

Torturer (to Pacifist): Okay sure, let me move aside for you.

With your arguement of monsters following because it doesn't make sense because they are visible, does what I just said make much sense?

Pacifists don't really >need< to get past anything that is kill to pass. 90% of the places they can/need to go, there is no kill to pass on the way. Which means if they run into a kill to pass monster, they probably don't need to be in the area. If they get stuck too bad right? It's not like a monster would step aside for them, being completely visible and all :(

Basically, what makes it okay for them to walk casually by a monster that usually stands guard in an area and blocks the path, but it's not ok for them to walk by normal monsters with protection spells and the monster not follow?

I disagree with that, there are many areas of the game they would be blocked from if they were not aloud to get past kil to pass - tho i feel they should not be able to go past kill to pass undead.

What I'm trying to say, and I'm sure David is too, is that there is no good argument against stopping paci's from dragging, except for "it doesn't make sense when you think about why a monster wouldn't follow them to try and kill them". They can walk past grasping vines and kill-to-pass monsters and nobody has the same argument about that, even though it's the same thing. If any class should be able to walk past kill to pass monsters and grasping vines it should be mages, druids, thieves, and any other crit that has invisibility cast on them. But since those guidelines of what the monsters would be thinking when a character tries to walk by them don't apply to that, then it shouldn't apply to paci's not dragging them. This would at least really help the gameplay for everyone, including paci's, I wish none of my crits dragged monsters. The only people who should really have a problem with this are the people who abuse paci's in this manner, and those are the people we're trying to stop anyways.

Gaddy holds a very valid point here, while having it under greater pact.

I think monsters should follow pacis, as paci's are a crit as well. They aren't a god crit, they're still a crit that can get damaged.

Having them under greater pact allows them to use mana in order for monsters not to follow them. Essentially it equals the two. It costs in order for monsters not to follow, and they can still get hurt as soon as greater pact goes out.

If the Pacifists are under Greater Pact, I agree that monsters should not follow... some kind of energy field or something deters monsters from approaching, but when not under Greater Pact, monsters should still follow the same. Because if monsters do not follow Pacifists, it will make it too easy for them, especially in the Museum and Harabec Dungeon, where you try to shake off monsters that you can't kill (I suppose also, this could be payback for alt parties... dragging monsters on top of Pacifists' training squares so they can't stand on it for long).

The whole reason I started the original topic in the first place was due to the fact of a pacifist dragging monsters onto me while I was training. If there are monsters in an area that they can't kill maybe they shouldn't go there to train, either way I still feel that under no circumstances should they be allowed to drag monsters. Especially if they are doing so under the circumstances that caused the original idea and thread to be posted.
