Mike that's pretty much what police and insurance companies would say in this country.Matt, do you lock your house every time you go out? What would happen if someone came in, stole everything, and then ran around telling everybody that they did it. Would the police say "Oh well, you left your door unlocked, cry please."
Share and you're pretty sure to get jacked at some point. /shrug

Giving someone the keys to your house and asking them to share it (making it their house too).
I see a major difference there.

One of the best explanations I've seen yet. Amen.Leaving your door open and you get stolen from.
Giving someone the keys to your house and asking them to share it (making it their house too).
I see a major difference there.
Poker in-game.

I fail to see any difference, other than in level of trust.Leaving your door open and you get stolen from.
Giving someone the keys to your house and asking them to share it (making it their house too).
I see a major difference there.
By leaving your door open, (having an account with no password or an easy to guess password), you implicitly trust everybody passing by, and happening to notice the open door, (trying and succeding to log on to your account).
By giving your key, (password), to somebody and sharing house, (account), with them, you trust them explicitly, and whomever they trust, you trust implicitly.
You choose to trust somebody one way or the other. If that trust turns around and bites you in the butt, then hang the trustee(s) with my blessing, but don't, as some people here are wont to, moan and cry over it, when there's a clear warning sign on every street, (at every login), that you live in a bad neighborhood, (there are thieves about, so don't trust anybody with your password).
Still /shrug
