my fav alternative band is a romanian band called OCS (omul cu sobolani) 
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens

Whit Strips-New age rock(which is also crap)
Punk= Brandnew Story of the year From Autumn To Ashes(Compliments to Justin)
Metal= Metallica Disturbed Godsmack Slipknot
Hard Rock=Shinedown Creed Stained
New Age Rock=White Stripes Jet and all that other junk
Country and rap and pritty self explanatory
Anyways just some help i guess correct me if i'm wrong though. Hard to sort rock now days w/ some people trying to blend rap into rock or pop into rock. Personaly when i listined to this stuff i liked to keep it black and white w/ the exception of LP & Limp Bizkit.

actually, I don't know anything about Good Charlotte, my friend likes it, she told me it was alternative....
