Lifespan doesn't have much to do with it. Elves are spiritual creatures, and gnomes aren't. Gnomes are intelligent creatures, and Elves are not.

More or less, Simulation's pretty much right. Intelligence refers to reasoning and analyzing while wisdom refers to common sense and "intuition." Elves are wiser than gnomes because they simply live longer and their experience helps them make decisions.

Elves, however, are not stupid (an elf would bend your ear over ten times if you ever called him/her an unintelligent creature). Combined with their wisdom (from living such long lives), they are also fiercly intelligent compared to younger races. Just like gnomes, elves are inquisitive and many are often plagued by a lust for knowledge.

Basically, what I am saying is that lifespan can factor for both wisdom and intelligence. If you spend the majority of your time in meditation or studying philosophy, you're going to be a little wiser than others. If you spend the majority of your time, reading tome after tome by candlelight, you will most likely be more intelligent than others

It all depends on the background story of your character (but when was the last time anyone in Nightmist rolled a character with a backstory in mind?).

HOWEVER,

since Nightmist has done very little to develop stories or personalities of the races, it is near impossible to deal with this from a RP aspect. So yes, I have just wasted like 10 minutes of my time on a useless post. Good day.

(PS. I'm not an RP expert. Stop calling me one. xD)

Sorry, just aggravates me when I try to say one thing and someone carelessly interprets it as another.

Everything everyone says ever is open to interpretation. If someone misunderstands what you say, you should (rather than insulting their intelligence), try to think of another way to say something, something which is less likely to be misenterpreted.

After all, are we all not human? Are we all not faulted?

only 3 people had anything to say lol

I counted seven. The general consesus seems to be that gnomes shouldn't be changed.

I for one, have both a gnome mage, and an elf mage. And I use my gnome infinately more than my elf.

I also think that I should go on the forums more, as this was a late, late, late response.

What the what?

Dwarf- When you're in a tough area that monsters do a lot of damage...you need something that can take what it's dishing out!
Halfling- Their dexterity is extremely helpful when facing other players.
Elves- Heal for the most, essential at hard-hitting bosses.
Humans- Slightly higher HP than an Elf, heals for less though.
Half-Elves- Where I would consider Human's to be the happy median between Dwarf/Halfling and Elf clerics, Half-Elves are that between Humans and Elves. Heals for slightly more than human, with similar HP.
Gnomes- Fizzles less, extremely useful when every last heal counts. The added dexterity helps make sure your cleric won't be rounded by the monster.

Lol, you made a slight error here, Human mages, dont have a slightly higher Hp than Elf Mages, although with every other class you're correct :(
