ok...first let me say i might be wrong about this but i think iam right.......i just had to fix my computer(ALOT was wrong with it)...and i got it fixed and logged onto intnet and try'd geting on nm and it saying that the server is busy.....this is because of lag or you doing something to server right?....or is it my comp? plz help

T1 and T3 > all....but cable is proven to be better than dsl, if you dont believe it just go to any one of the many bandwith test sites on the net....the numbers speak for themselves.
EDIT : Just thought I would post my results from a Cnet bandwith test just for a little backup...

SPEED – Our DSL speeds are as fast as 3-5 MB and even 7 MB in some areas.

LOL and if you want to base your opinion on an advertisement thats fine. Like it says cable IS faster. Everything I've seen says that your theoretical high-end on a DSL line will forever be limited by how far you are from one of their routing centers. Cable's limited to however fast they're willing to let you go.And if you are using a provider that is actually slowed by heavy traffic....then thats your own dumb fault. It mentions nothing in that AD about how unstable DSL actually is. And as far as the numbers go....BS. Like I said, go to ANY bandwith site on the net and look at the results, cable scores highter than DSL on nearly every single one. And also...ive had cable throught three different providers, as well as DSL through two, and I have never had a contract. Has anyone ever heard of having a contract for an ISP other than dial up?? I sure havent. So I will say that if you want to save money...find out how close you are to the nearest DSL hub, and if close et ther e service and save alot money and get decent performance. But please if you are looking for speed and reliability then cable is the ez choice.

Speed - DSL depends on distance from the exchange, and the quality of the lines. Many parts of the UK have such inferior lines that they cannot support DSL. Some people work on an extended reach programme where some of their speed is compromised for the service.
Cost - DSL is damn expensive where I am. It depends where you are. Often there is an activation fee.
Reliability - Both cable and dsl is shared between people. Our DSL provider is very unreliable, so really it's a case of ESID (every situation is different).
Security - Cable is less secure. As long as your machine is set up correctly you'll be fine so no problem really.
No contacts - Our DSL has a 12 month minimum contract, and an activation fee...

I just tested out my speed it says i have a 3.5megabit connection
dunno how fast 3.5megabit is but the result says i have an Awesome Speed and I am connecting through a router lol....
My Cable Provider hosts a 5meg Bandwith its awesome.
And Cable >> Dsl cause Dsl is still Dail up, its going through the phone lines and because of voice feeds dsl can never be faster then cable, because cable is totally free of voice conferencing and if you have a router , Firewall, Nothing can get into your computer unless your stupid and download something.
