I've seen people pay stupid amounts for a 1ac bonus. But 800k for something that actually does nothing...
Do you think it'll give you some sort of status around other players? People will fall at your feet cus you're wearing something in a commonly unused slot.
Not meaning to shine on your parade, take them for what you can ;p
