I'd like to see a text command for exiting the program. The functionality would be equivalent to pressing the quit button.

For people who use laptops, getting to the mouse is sometimes a bit of a pain. Adding a /quit command would allow people who are primarily using typed commands to exit without hunting for the mouse.

I can see that some people might object that this allows someone to macro the quit feature, giving them an easy (but temporary) escape from PKers. However, they can already do this using ALT-F4, so I don't see this as a serious change in functionality.

I've thought this before myself - most of the time my hands are positioned to type, I'd prefer to just type /quit or /exit.

Your hands are positioned to type, so type alt + F4. Easy as that.

alt+q
That works also.

But I also see no reason there shouldn't be an /exit command. Would make sense, as it's a text based game.

No seriously, your hands are positioned to type, to type alt + F4 or alt + Q, it consists of less key strokes...

i think what they getting at is less key strokes, but longer key stroked taking more time? i dunno, ive never had a problem logging 22 alts by clicking the x in the corner repeatedly and lagging my pc out, kinda fun actually

this is simple, just type alt+q or alt+F4 and quit the game if ur on a laptop.... i mean if youre not using it to escape pkers, then u shouldnt be in a huge hurry to log off, right?

/quit is still cool, though. for people who quit the game entirely.

for example:

Some_Guy: that's it i quit
Some_Guy: thanks for syaing bye everyone
/quit
Nothing Happens.
Other_Guy (to Some_Guy): you still there, wnna do somthin?
Some_Guy: yeah sure
wouldn't it be funny if rich had registered this name first, and you were bickering with him?

Is it possible to have /quit close all alts at once?

At first, this idea sounded a bit pointless to me, but I think that it would be a nifty little feature to be able to /quit and log everyone.
Things would be so much easier if people would only see them my way...

I am just wondering, but is this about being able to log off really really fast? Because that is the only reason I can think of for adding an option like that. Now thinking about why someone would want to be able to log off really really fast, only one thing pops into my mind...

pkers! AARRRRGGGHHHH... I'm about to die! Let me log of really really fast. macro F1 /quit autosend

Shame on you for even thinking this way!

the first thing that comes to my mind when pk:ers attack me is to ... RUN real fast or try to killed them (real fast) but never to log off ... thats for whimps i say.
( even whimpy would be if a pk:er logs off ... happened to me other day at barracks when i decided to attack back at the pk:er :) )

theres no need for /quit as there is alt + f4 and alt + Q for laptop users.

I logged at museum btw, there's no way to run and with a big ass party pounding your clerics there's no point in fighting back either.
