  • The Chinese Broad Sword is an identical weapon to the Blade of Honor (stat wise) and is purchasable in TTK.
  • The price of the Chinese Broad Sword 1,000 gold, which is the same as the Blade of Honor (yet, much more difficult to obtain in terms of locale).
  • Other purchasable items in TKK such as the Nunchaku (similar to Warhammer) are a lot more expensive than their counterparts (over twice the price).
  • So I think that the price of the Chinese Broad Sword should be upped to approximately 3,000 gold.

The weapon is fairly low-end and not likely to be purchased over the Blade of Honor. Really, the only time a player would use it is if a high-level crit goes to Tirantek to buy one and then putting it on /websell, if not carrying it back to their vault so a lower-level player can use it. It's also not particularly 'shiny' over the Blade of Honor, unlike, say, the Fire Bands over the Wooden Bracers, so a price increase will only serve to make it even more unused, since you won't be able to put it on /websell without making a loss.

This is what I primarily had in mind when making the suggestion. I pictured a player discovering the TKK for the first time (or obtaining the means of doing so) and finding the Chinese Broad Sword. With that in mind, I can envision said player keeping that in mind in case they roll an alt later and want them to have a "cooler" weapon at level 15. Honestly, this is a "minor" suggestion and look at it from the big scheme of things: we're talking a spread of 1K to 3K.

Now, I do want to point out, if it does really make sense to keep the price the same, then other items should be changed to reflect this consistency, for instance:

Name / Level / Base Damage / Price / Location:

Warhammer / 10 / 10 / 700 / Resthaven Weapons Shop
Flail / 10 / 10 / 700 / Resthaven Weapons Shop
(^^ This makes sense, in terms of stat and price cohesion)
Nunchaku / 10 / 10 / 1,000 / TKK

If the Chinese Broad Sword was purposely designed to be same price as its counterpart Blade of Honor, then why was the Nunchaku implemented with a slight mark-up in price? This is inconsistent; perhaps the Nunchacku should be marked down to 700?

Blade of Honor / 15 / 20 / 1,000 / Arilin Weapons Store
Scimitar / 15 / 20 / 1,250 / Silversail
Chinese Broad Sword / 15 / 20 / 1,000 / TKK

Once again, as the Warhammer to the Nunchaku, there is a slight price increase - this is also exhibited here with the Blade of Honor to the Scimitar.

In conclusion, we're talking about mere chump change here... this isn't a big deal; however, the issue is in the fact of inconsistencies. If you and the other staff believe that items such as Chinese Broad Swords should be the same price, then can the other items be the same price as their counterparts, too?

Thanks for your feedback, Stig!

The Nunchaku can be used by Paladins, while the Warhammer and Flail cannot.
