As a pacifist, a one 1 alt class. No other characters may be used while a Lycan is logged on.

Almost the entire population of Lycans consist of cursed souls. Creatures of the night, Lycans are often in the form of a man-beast. A coarse hair will cover their entire bodies. Their teeth are elongated into horrific canines, capable of shredding even the sturdiest of armour. Though many have met one and lived to tell about it, Lycans are said to have the eyes that glow with a lust for blood-shed. Legends talk of how a Lycan will continue to hunt their prey once their eyes lock.

Capable Races: Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Dwarf

Start HP = Constitution*3
  • Con <12 = 7-8 HP at level up
  • Con 13-15 = 9-10 HP at level up
  • Con 16-17 = 10-12 HP at level up
  • Con 18-19 = 11-13 HP at level up
  • Con >19 = 12-14 HP at level up (Constitutions higher than 19 will give a better chance of receiving >12 HP)
Starting MP = Wisdom/1.5
  • Wisdom <12 = 1 MP at level up
  • Wisdom 13-15 = 1-2 MP at level up
  • Wisdom 16-17 = 3-4 MP at level up
  • Wisdom 18-19 = 4-6 MP at level up
  • Wisdom >19 = 6-8 MP at level up (Wisdoms higher than 19 will give a better chance of receiving >8 MP at level up)
(A 19 19 19 19 19 19 human will, on average, receive 393 HP and 158 Mana)

Stamina:
3, 9, 15, 20, 24, 29
(A total of 7 Stamina at level 30)

Armour - None. Natural armour of 5.

Useable weapons: Nails, teeth, claws. (See next post)

Special notes:
  • Lycans will receive their new weapons automatically upon level up.
  • Because of the Lycans' savage nature, they may only party with other 1-alt classes (save Pacifists, of course).
  • Lycans will automatically level up once they have enough EXP.
  • Upon death, Lycans will lose 1.5% of their EXP before death.
  • Upon level up, Lycans HP and MP are not restored nor is their status (i.e. poison, hunger, thirst)
  • An increased metabalism causes Lycans to get "hungry" and "thirsty" 2x as fast.
  • Lycans may only use one ability at a time.
Abilities:

Level 1, Rage: Same as berserkers

Level 5, Seeth:
Mana Cost - 4 mana per 10 seconds.
Character regenerates (Level) HP or 4 HP per 10 seconds, whichever is greater.

Level 8, Track: Same as Ranger

Level 15, Intimidate:
Mana Cost - 10 mana per 10 seconds.
Character deals 1.2x damage.

Level 20, Curse of Self:
Life Cost - 20 HP per 10 seconds.
Character regenerates (Level/1.5) MP per 10 seconds.

Level 26, Pursuit:
Mana Cost - 10 mana per 10 seconds.
Stamina recovers 1.2x faster than normal.

Level 29, Ravernous Bites:
Mana Cost - 14 mana per 10 seconds.
Character poisons target. Deals 1.5x Damage. If monster, monster's AC is reduced by 2 per strike for 10 seconds.

((Notes: I'll work on these names. I personally think they're lame and that I can do better. I will also write descriptions for the /library of them. I see Lycans dealing the same damage as fighters...perhaps a bit higher.))

There's only one thing about this that I want people to comment on.

Lycanthropes will get 7 stamina. Is this too much? Does this make them over powerful?

well, there are quite a bit of disadvantages for them. x2 speed on hunger/thurst. no cleanse or heal on leveling, 1 alt at a time, and 1 ability at a time. The auto-leveling wont get in though, you will always have to level at a guild.

Ugh...but that doesn't make sense with this class. Who is a Lycanthrope going to learn from? You'd have to make a city of Lycans... o_o

Dont worry about making a 1-alt class too powerful... Unless you go TOTALLY overboard Im sure you wont overdo it.

They have no one to help them, can't party, cant join guilds etc *Well at least under the current system* So they SHOULD be powerful enough to look after themselves... Etc etc.

I personally think if a whole set of 1-alt classes were introduced that they shouldnt be able to interact with alt characters. Hence they wouldnt be able to pk people that use alts, and visa versa, and they would not be able to group with them, etc. This would keep people from whining about overpowered 1-alt classes.

Sorry... that was a tad off topic. :)

no way. no more of this uber 1 alt crit nuts. Not being able to PK or BE Pked is stupid. Pacifists are bad enough without adding another immortal character

You didnt read.

I said they could pk eachother.

But there is no viable way you can make 1-alt classes be able to fight multi class characters, and have players be even remotely content.

To get back on topic.....I think this is a pretty good idea. The only thing that worried my about it was the 7 stamina but then the other posts sorta covinced me they might need it. Good job Squee

Just because I want to throw this up...

Jlh?

Is it possible to have a class that automatically levels up when it reaches the required EXP? Or is it made so players must "Buy Training" at guilds?

Well it should be that there is a lvl thing for all classes so it is impossible to make it so that this can happen without a class check every time your lvl exp bar is coded to turn red, and then call the lvl up command, or also if you have the whatever exp it is til you cannot gain more making it so that instead of saying some annoying thing it calls the lvl subroutine, unless lvl up it not a sub and part of the button, then it requires a little copy-pasting.

The Lycan, being a savage beast, is rarely found in clans. However, times have changed and the Lycans are finally beginning to become a more social sect. They have discovered that solitary confinement can only lead to their dustruction. As such, Lycans have been appearing in clans in fair numbers. However, a Lycan cannot deny its nature anymore than a man and, as such, they should be watched carefully. It is not unheard of Lycans turning on their masters in times of crisis.

I think some people may have missed one of the important features of these classes. These classes can party, they just cannot be run in conjunction with other characters logged on, much the same as the pacifist, however, unlike the pacifist, these characters CAN join parties, and CAN join guilds, and CAN kill other players, one of the forces behind the idea is to ENCOURAGE working with other people, instead of playing for ones own SELFISH desires.

The lycanthrope is acctually usually something passed on to the creature, usually they turn into a mighty beast during the full moon or other times. The main reason this would be a class is that it offers great abilities though it takes away from their ability to stay on a single class at any one time.

/library Seeth

Lycanthropes are said to be savages, driven more by their stomaches than their minds. A lycanthrope seething with utter rage is the perfect example. In this state of mind, a lycanthrope's body begins to pulsate as blood is rushed through its system ten-fold. The end result is a beast capable of healing even faster than it could before.

Lycan_Name begins to foam at the mouth as he/she seethes with rage.

/library Intimidate

Is there a greater terror than to see a lycanthrope towering over you, breathing down at you with its foul breath? Lycanthropes, through-out the years, have learned to rally up all their raw emotions to the point where their hair stands on end and their bodies even begin to grow in size. This horrifiying sight will make even the most valient warriors hesitate before striking.

Lycan_Name stands completely erect and snarls, baring his/her terrifying fangs.

/library Savage Sacrifice

It is rare, nay, impossible to see any other creature partake in such a ritual. Even the sight of this brutal rite makes one cringe. Lycanthropes have recently discovered how the constant consumption of their own flesh can actual boost their self-awareness, allowing them to preform amazing feats for longer amounts of time. Though the price is high, lycanthropes are often more than willing to submit to such a ceremony.

Lycan_Name savagely consumes his own flesh, letting loose a roar as he finishes, brandishing his/her blood-stained teeth.

/library Blind Pursuit

Once a lycanthrope locks eyes with its prey, it will continue to charge forward until either one of them is dead. While in this state of heedless hunting, a lycanthrope will often notice that they are no longer in control. It as if their body no longer feels pain and fatigue, allowing them to attack relentlessly for mass amounts of time.

Lycan_Name snarls and let's loose low growls as he/she locks eyes with his would-be enemy.

/library Ferocious Gnaw

The more experienced lycanthropes are so intune with their savage nature that they even their siliva begins to take on a slight acidic property. By this time, their teeth have become as hard as steel and, combined with the devestating strength in their jaws, can shred through even the toughest of armour. Obviously, to see a lycanthrope in this state of mind, the best plan of action would to be run...run fast.

Lycan_Name let's loose a blood-curdling howl and his/her begin to glow red.

Nice descriptions, however when the action takes place, all I could think was 'What? Howling again?' Perhaps less focus on that when the action is taken.
