Ok, i think that besides mages, rangers are the hardest to train, anyone know what stats and race i should have for ranger, and the best place to train.

They're only hard up to level 23.. Then it's pretty easy sailing.

High dex, high str and high con.. Just what you'd expect for most classes.

And train on anything with low dex (you can get a rough idea for a monsters dex by how often you miss it).

I've only trained a halfer to lvl 25, and a human to 24. No longer own either, but anyways. I prefer the halfer to human, the increased dex is always nice. As for where-to-train. This is how I went about it:
~
1-5:Small snakes/Skels south of Nm.
~
5-15:Small snakes/Skels/Spiders north of NM.
~
15-20 (three cheers for dual shot...): Take on the large forest.
~
20-25 (Yay 4 stam/rapid fire.):Gnolls
~
25+: Gnolls would still be good, desert...etc..places of that sort. Never trained mine past 25, so I can't say.
~
As for the stats/race. Its pretty much up to you, but as alone put it: High dex, high str, and high con. I'm guessing by this your meaning max stats in those-atleast. Higher wis is always nice, magic dmg..etc...Char directly effects your rangers chances to hypno..so thats always nice to have at a decent level as well.

Ahem. Lots of colors..sorry..got..abit carried away?

Tell me... I can see that Charisma is useful for Rangers, but is it essential? Just a question because my Ranger only has 14 Charisma.

Hey Climax, do you know what's best to train them from lvl 20-23?

1-5 south of nightmist (snakes/skeletons etc)
5-10 large forest (black/brown bears)
10-15 swamps (hydra hatchlings/vines/giant mosquitos)
15+ desert (sand snakes/vipers scorpions)

I'm currently lvling a halfling, started at lvl 1(lvl 22 atm) and have trained it with a cleric... the exp just flies by when your hitting monsters in desert at such a low lvl

Arch cleric? Also how many alts do you bring along besides the ranger..I'd be intersted in trying your method sublime.
~
I was basing my areas as if the ranger was going to be one of your first crits..due to the fact I doubt any new player would have the guts, or the know how to take a level 15 crit into the desert.

I only use 2 alts, master dwarf cleric and whatever crit im training... i usually bring a few alts with me just to clear granites and leave them at rope ladder then invis to Silversail and train off the desert maze, Enhance/RF for better results.

Pretty much any attacking crit can be trained this way and fast too, my ranger is currently lvl 22 Total Game Time: 1 day, 4 hours and 10 minutes.

about 2 hours of that is from sitting at the sgh chatting

Intersting. I'd check it out, but my cleric is just nearing level 23 at the moment. I could use my pally, but I don't know if that'd do the trick. So your saying it'd be possible to train with a master/arch cleric, and 2 lower lvl crits? I'm not a big fan of alt training, ya'. I know it goes faster/easier, but hey. I guess I'm just oldfashioned? =p
