I'd like to go quietly in my sleep too but not with an audiance, wth would I want my grandkids around as I die knowing the last thing I may do is fart loudly and leave them with that fond memory for all eternity. I don't think so.

I heard drowning is pretty peacefull btw, but I'd rather not die, the world needs me. And well there needs to be a first of everything, so I'll be the first who will live forever.

Jut cause it ain't been done before doesn't mean it cant be.

So many choices. Even though I'm the pacifistic type, I would prefer to die valiantly, fighting a worthy foe should I be forced to do combat. Otherwise, I would like to see myself die saving another, or via seppuku to restore and preserve lost honour.

I suppose ultimately, I wouldn't want a pointless death.

I myself would want to be having a blast so I'd live life like a video game and try driving my truck anywhere possible and running over pedestrians and maybe a driveby or two. I'd go out in style for sure.

You're kidding right? Enough people have drowned, where they go unconscience, and they get brought back when their heart has already stopped, seeing as the brain can survive without air for a short while (3-5 minutes). Besides, there's enough that can be assumed with relative cetrainty through science and the like, without it having to be experienced.

Actually Drowning can be quite a hectic event.
Especially if someone is trying to drown you. Think about those mothers who drown their kids in the bathtub, they have got to be kicking and screaming and struggling. or the water torture known as "back'boarding" that would be quite a traumatic way to go.
I guess if your intoxicated and fall into a pool and drown that might be less traumatic.

I'd take 30 coriciden pills, grab some nice katanas, go to downtown Memphis, and let heads fly.

So I choose dying valiantly in combat, for when in combat, the will to live and the will to kill greatly diminish the pain you feel. And coriciden too? Man you'd be a tank of punishment!

The drowning effect has something to do with loss of oxygen to the brain which makes you 'high'. Heard a few years ago about kids in the US strangling eachother to reach the same effect. But I have no experience with it nor am I a scientist on that field, just thought I'd share incase you were keeping your options open.

well i'd imagine you just sat there underwater not moving..most people when they're being drowned will flail their arms and put up a fight. that uses oxygen a lot more quickly than just sitting underwater. plus you probably didn't stay too long after you lost your last bit of air

You can Hyperventilate for a minute or two, and then get a 'neckie' (held up against a wall by the neck by 2 people, with another putting more pressure on the chest) whilst your breath is still held. That will cause you to faint for no more than 20 seconds (usually about 5) but it feels like a never ending dream. When you wake up you get a similar feeling to having inhaled poppers. (many dead brain cells)

The peacefully in your sleep one comes from a joke about a soldier who hears most people die in thier sleep at 2am so sets alarms to go off at 1.59 but this pisses the guy in the bunk below off who shoots him

The emo-suicide one is from the 2-part series Sparkhouse

The saving a child one is from a real story about a woman who let herself sink in a flood so her child could stand on her shoulders and live

The hanging one is from a Tony Christie song
