Some existing monsters are already perfect for a new role, like the Scarabs and Scorpions in the Pyramid of the Mortal God. Creating new monsters can wind up making others obsolete, as well as naming problems ("Pyramid Scarab", "Pyramid Scorpion") and possible issues of balancing and rebalancing. What's wrong with recycling old monsters anyway? Should we have unique bears in each forest?

yes we should have unique bears in each forest

every forest dont have same conditions, can be cold or warm w/e.
i dont think naming is a big problem

I have been to the top of the pyramid. Twice with someone else and we kept getting demolished. Anyone else that I knows who go to the top never travels alone and has 40 arches in party.

it would take me a damn long time but I could solo it with 14 and I know a fair ammount of other players that could

its called csotw zerk #####ing

nearly everyone could

1. sell acct
2. get csotws zerks and clerics
3. you dont even NEED to heal because you have csotws
4. kill imhotep

I asked who?

Btw.. I will never sell my whole account to get a few cobalts. If I need em, I'll just train till I get enough gold to buy one. A cobalt would be worthless without crits to put one on.

LOL I have problems running with 20 crits period. I can't see how someone can control 20 crits. I just can't fit that many on my screen. 14 I can handle but I know a person who has a few cobalts, a few arch clerics and he still can't solo them. Even when it was me and him together trying to fight at top we couldn't do it. I only run with 12 crits (1 being cleric). Ah well this is going off topic, I just think that it still sucks that scarabs were lowered and apparently I wasn't the only one.

I don't like the new drop in pod for the scarab. Thought it was fine the way it was. I also dunno how people run 20 crits. It just seems like it wouldn't be as much fun.

i know a fair few other people that have done it alone. And as rappy says - make your task bar so it fits 2 rows of crits on it then its easy. and i used so many clerics becuase its a undead boss?! lol thus clerics to heal it lol.... (and it was 6 not 5 hehe) and 17 over all.

80 was good. Sure I didn't or don't hit that nuts anymore; but it's been like that for years. Why fix what isn't broken Jazza thinks.

I don't see your point there you still need items to get into the pyramids and museum. Its just really defeated the point of using the 1st floor as a legitimate training place, when you can go upstairs for better gold and xp, for the same hardness of monster.

Um.. Scarabs and MAS' aren't the same difficulty.

I think it's a shame their exp was lowered as they were placed in an area that's easily accessable. Hopefully more thought will be put into it in the future.

Yes they are, I mean the fact that both get rounded so the fact that MAS hit faster matters not. :\

So, we may we as well put bunnies up to 80pod, as they can be rounded... Yay.

I don't follow your logic there I'm just stating a point that the 1st floor is somewhat pointless now. Why change something that isn't broken? They worked in perfect tandem offering more xp in exchange for gold.

Edit: Where in my post did I suggest they should be 80 POD because they are roundable?

If you want higher XP for less gold in the Museum, go fight Arrowheads if you are unhappy with Modern Art Sculptures.

For the Pyramid of the Mortal God, climb up to the second floor and you have Scorpions.

Still, why fix something that isn't broken?

Just ruin some training areas and narrows down the variety of areas to train. Its not in anywhere over powering or something which hasn't be around for along time, its stood the test of time yet for some reason all of a sudden it needs to be changed, meaning newer players find the areas for training become more restricted.

Lol its another option for training, but why shift all the players from one area to another. I just can't see the logic behind changing something after so many years of it being the same. Personally I prefer the gold upstairs at a slightly reduced xp rate, but I'm just trying to work out the purpose of its change.

basically the Scarab is a weak, minor, easily killed, insignificant monster.. compare Wolf hp/gold/exp to Scarab hp/gold/exp, i don't mind either way i just don't see why there is so many complaints

Not all monsters are in line with xp though and it would be stupid to lower monsters xp for that reason. I just still don't understand why things like scarab are changed when they're are much more obvious monsters xp that need changing like the orc.

Whats the exp on arrow heads and suites? if there lower than 80 maybe should consider increaseing them, but having the first floor of an area having the better exp doesnt seem right.

Museum Monsters

(1st floor) Scarab -> 68 XP
(2nd floor) Modern Art Sculpture -> 70 XP
(3rd floor) Arrowhead -> 80 XP

You missed the 4th floor.... The suits of armour there give even less xp than Scarabs! Surely by the above method (1st floor < 2nd floor < 3rd floor) the 4th should be better than the 3rd, not worse than the 1st (they hit hardest too)
