Basic Statness

Also, back in the day when I was a noob, I ended up getting:
a level 21 ranger with 15 strength
a level 23 fighter with 12 cons
and an assorted amount of other horrible crits.
My solution to noobie bad stat syndrome:
A new option in the "new character" screen would have a "basic stats" button. If you click this then you get a pre-defined set of stats.
Human: 17 17 17 17 17 17
Dwarf: 19 16 16 19 16 15
Elf: 16 19 17 16 18 19
Gnome: 15 19 18 16 17 16
Halfling: 16 17 19 16 16 17
Half-Elf: 16 18 17 17 17 18
Half-Orc: 20 13 14 20 12 13.
These stats aren't very good, but yet it's not detrimental if you waste your time leveling up one of these.
Also, these characters are decent for getting the hang of the game..
Just a simple thought.

Yes, I just confused myself.
It should only be a one time option, so they can get used to the game... There is alot of infomation around if they'd be not so lazy and actually READ what is there to help them.

Isn't that already the case?People would make a million rangers and get OK stats right away. Then, nightmist would become a "who can set and push macros the fastest" contest.
KuMiko in game.

Yes, they could. Then they would get owned of an army of good stated chars. They'll just sit there and create an army of not so good stated chars.

You don't want to give out to much information in regards to info like stats. Sure we want everyone at some point to have nice crits, but not having them from the jump simply because of a lack of knowledge makes you appreciate the nice ones later. Also they add for some pretty funny stories as time goes on.
My first crit was a human fighter with 16 con. At level 28 he had a big 256 HPS...lol

let the roll their own!....we've had to do it for how many years now?...and iam speaking for myself who's had to play for like 3years+(cant remember year i started lol...) but i agree the players should just learn themselfs...the hard way, which btw isnt so hard if you do actually just read the tutorial sections which most players point you twards if they take just a second to think..how can i help this newb the easiest and fastest.
