Resthaven Guild of Writers

Breaking News: Merchants' Secret Path!

The mayor of Resthaven announced yesterday that there has recently been a slew of attacks on merchants traveling between towns. Normally these merchants traverse dangerous or unknown paths to try and corner a market with the goods they sell, though this practice leaves them in the path of danger normal citizens would stay clear of.

"There has been four confirmed killings and at least a dozen hurt," the mayor stated, "the path between this city and Blackthorn has been revealed to us and has apparently been used for some time now."

The mayor is persuing answers as to what exactly is going on, but apparently a group of bandits followed the merchants. When the merchants were finally alone the bandits would attack them and steal their goods to sell on the black market.

The mayor is taking additional steps in trying to procure adventurers, warriors, and mages to try and clean up the area. He also said he might start up a small militia for Resthaven to try and keep the merchants safe, "That would be an absolute last resort. Our city has never had a militia and I would hope we wouldn't have to start one due to a few bandits."

The Blackthorn Times contributed to this report.
