you need vb to learn it in the first place lol. don't think there is a different way to compile the code and yes 70 mb looks fine.

yeah, but it's always good to read books, look at what you're up against before going ahead with it. It's like saying, do you walk across the road before you look?

Cut Jurian some slack he made a program that works, be happy if it helps you, if it does not what did you lose? Honestly it did not cost any money so what is wrong if it does not look perfect YOU make one that looks perfect then point out ways to help the source code to make it look perfect not "YOU SUCK" or just STFU because you have no idea what it takes to program. Yes I am saying if your not a programmer do not complain but the thing is everyone is gifted in their area if it is not your then STFU and let the people who know what they are doing critize and assist not just uslessly say their better when they do not know what they are doing.

Too bad, you failed.

And i agree with Squigle, you don't go around donwloading/buying stuff without knowing how it works. And i don't mean that you have to be able to make a fully working program and then you get it, but you should know in what way the coding works. (besides you should always get the book first anyways). Also, if you seriously wan't to make a program (like NM for instance) you should buy. The appl. you download won't be complete.

so youre saying that i shouldve bought a book on HTML/JS before i started looking at the code? why buy a book when HTML/JS is open source anyway, and you learn from experience, not from text book 'standard' coding, because ull see that the stuff in a text book, althought can be kinda useful, is nothing compared to the rapidly changing HTML out there... i guess this applies to VB/cpp/css etc, hence why i am learning from other peoples 'open sources' which imo is the best way of going about it... 'trial and error'

exactly, it's like reading a book in another language that you dont understand. Without reading translation dictionaries, and learning to understand that language, you wont get very far. I'm not trying to go against your word, im trying to help, thats all.

how about actually buying the program.  And what's the point in downloading VB, and getting the source code, if you quite clearly don't know VB. 

why buy the program when you can download it? also, i dont know VB for nuts, im the first to admit that. Its called 'learning' not all of us are gifted with the ability to just 'know' a programming language like you. I am 14, and if i wish to spend my time helping myself out by learning a different language, then i believe i shall.
btw, i meant no offense to your post, i just wish to say that i have an ambition to learn, is that such a crime?

Lol it's cool man, i don't know VB either, i just think it's always best to learn something before buying/download a program, wasting your time setting it all up, then realising it's a pregnant dog to get the hang of and giving up. I suggest starting on small programing languages like ASL to get the grips of coding. I also hear C# is quite easy to learn, VERY powerful, and the IDE is completely free! it's kinda like Microsofts version of Java, and i've come to love Java for it's stability and capabilities.

And tbh, vb basics is really easy to learn. C# I've never actually used but it is supposed to be quite easy, and its speed is very nice.

I've never reada vb tutorial in my life, with vb its practically like english I just looked at source code and got from there. With other languages though just studying source code would be very hard/nearly impossible.

Java is great, is has so many capabilities. you just have to go into depth with it to know that you can do ANYTHING you want with it. Ever heard of Jmsn? a complete instant messenger which uses the MSN protocol or something stupid like that. pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Yes, Java is good for the amount of things it can do, but the speed of it is slooooooooooow. If you need something to work fast then Java isn't the language you want to use.

alternitavly you can go to web pages and do tutorials online if you dont have the money for a book in some ways books are better but online tutorials will get you there for the time being from what ive read vb is very english based it also has a few tricky things to it i much prefer c++ then all this click and drag stuff lol but anyway

jurian did a great job for what he got done with it and put in a lott of work not just coding it and putting it together but all the research and groundwork and before you go dissing jurian for what he didnt finish you get that far on your own and see how well you do

i do know where you getting at with constructive critisism but telling someone there program sucks isnt it if you were to say which certain part of the program wasnt working or needed filling in but thats irrelevent now i guess now if you want it changed u need to learn vb and code it in urself

ps i know my grammer and spelling sucks
