I'm going to rekindle this topic, as the 1-alt server has a fair vacancy for crafting with the Coven and other new introductions... and new items. I want to hear what ideas players have. Specifically, I also need help with a couple of items from Cinderforge Mine:

- Coal (ideally, use the Leather Bag of Coal... possibly as fuel for a furnace)
- Mithril (I won't give the exact name of the component away yet, but it is meant to be quite valuable)

I know it doesn't help that I'm being vague, but I don't want to give away too much. Though I'm open to powerful crafts for grandmaster crits, it would be a wise idea to follow Gaddy's guidelines at the head of this topic.

Seeing as 4ac are for lvl 30 i don't see why we couldn't have 5ac rings for 35+ but here goes;

Library info for Mithril Ring:
Armor base: 5, Can be worn by: clerics, druids, fighters, mages, paladins, rangers, thieves, Description: The Mithril Ring shines with a bright aura. It is lightweight but capable of providing extreme strength and durability to anyone that wears it. The mithril itself is one of the rarest materials found in the deep dark places of the realm. It has been mined and crafted into this magnificent ring by a skilled dwarven blacksmith., Level needed to equip it: 35, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Absorb spell: 0, Single equip: 0.

What would the recipe be, bearing in mind the existence of a Glowing Cobalt Ring.

I suppose I should help you out a bit too... though the component is valuable, it won't be worth more than 100k.

Glowing Cobalt Ring isn't a very realistic goal given how many Elfstones required to craft it, much like the Cobalt Bow. I didn't include a recipe cuz i figure its more fun for players to find these things out for themselves but i'm sure i could come up with something.

Library info for Staff of Power:
Base damage: 15, Can be worn by: mages, Description: The Staff of Power is a long metallic rod which expands into three large claws at the top. Wedged firmly between the claws is a Black Sapphire, glowing brightly that seems to produce an aura around the holder. This modular arrangement, easily disassembled in a forge, is preferred by Dark Elven Mages to augment their already potent magical abilities., Level needed to equip it: 36, Magical: Yes, Vamparic: No, Armor: 5, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 2, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: 0, Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: .

Recipe would consist of: Black Sapphires, Mana Core, Lich Dust, Giant Aquamarine.

Things of that nature. Also would like to see Stinger Sleeves made into a ranger equip as well

Could craft Mithril Sword into the game. /shrug

And a 36 component item worth 100K? Doesn't seem very realistic, doesn't cost enough.

Library info for Jeweled Mithril Staff:
Base damage: 18, Can be used by: clerics, mages, Description: A Master Blacksmith has shaped the dark metal into a powerful staff, and encrusted into the length hundreds of shimmering multi-colored gems. At the top rests a large orb that emits a soft magical glow, which strengthens and brightens as you cast a spell. As you wrap your hand around the staff, you feel its power rush through your body. Only the most proficient spellcasters are able to wield this magnificent staff., Level needed to equip it: 36, Magical: Yes, Vamparic: No, Armor: 0, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 1, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: 0, Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: 0.05.

The idea is that the Leather Bag of Coal is required as fuel for the blacksmith's furnace to craft the staff:

Ingredients:
Leather Bag of Coal + Mithril + Large Emeralds + Sapphire Shards + Amethysts + Mana Core

I like Sarah's a lot.

I could see a Mithril Staff being crafted and then the jewels added to make its jeweled. If this was the case I could see the Mithril Staff being the base for the Staff of Power (with the description altered a bit).

Library info for Mithril Shield:
Armor base: 22, Can be worn by: fighters, paladins, rangers, Description: This heavy metal shield has been crafted by a Master Blacksmith, using the strongest metal known to man. It has been infused with an ancient magic that gives the wielder a large advantage over their opponents. Only the strongest and most experienced warriors are able to arm themselves with this powerful shield., Level needed to equip it: 36, Strength modifier: 1, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Absorb spell: 0.05, Single equip: 0.

Base damage: 30, Can be used by: Fighters, Berserkers Description: The method in which these claws were forged are a mystery known only to the Warlock Blacksmith in the Coven. It is believed that the method to cooling it down involves the water mixed with a potion known to drain the life of enemies. The metal of the claws are infused with a red tint that makes them glow in even the dimmest of lights. The weight of the claws make them impossible to be used by the more nimble, but heavy meleers find the weight reassuring. While the immensity of these claws do not make it hard to move, they do make the reflexes suffer, making defense much harder than before. The items used to craft these hold the malice of their old masters, causing disturbing thoughts of blood and death to fill your mind with each powerful swing. Level needed to equip it: 34, Magical: Yes, Vamparic: 0.1, Armor: -10, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: 0, Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: .

Claws of Vengeance-

x2 Beating Heart
x1 Ledger of Hate (Touching this ledger chills your hand to bone. It seems the Tax Lord kept a measure of every bit of money he had stolen from those who faced him and met their death. The Ledger cannot be opened, and when heated melts instead of burns!) Drop from Tax Lord- not sure on rarity.
x1 Stinger Tip - (Only about three inches in length, as you carry this stinger around you can smell the deadly aroma left by the hornet's venom coursing through the end of it.) As the Titan Hornet falls to the ground the tip of it's stinger fractures and skids acrossed the ground to your feet.=Kill descript for drop, probably very rare. (I'm sure for the crafting one of them should be very hard, so a pretty low drop rate on these tougher enemies might do the job.)
x1 Mithril Ingot
x4 Vampire Blood Potion

(Idea may not be perfect or anything, but figure it's a good base.)

Thank you Sarah for beating me to the punch!

Be aware that the mithril component I'm referring to is different to the Mithril Ingot.

I may not use your ideas in the exact form that they're presented, but there's some good stuff I can use here.

I'm going to go with the first one, for more versatility (rangers can equip as well), the description is more professional and to my liking, and I feel as if it is more balanced. When I say balanced, I refer to the lvl 36 and +1 str against just being lvl 32. However, the ingredients are also more balanced, as the comparisons on ease of acquiring the ingredients is tenfold. The ingredients are definitely harder to get in Sarah's version, though I realize this is because yours is only level 32. I think yours just needs... something, as right now it is just a dulled down copy of something someone spent quite a bit of time thinking up; no offense. Keep working at it, and perhaps improving that description could even help quite a bit! I also like that Sarah's ingredients have you running around the map quite a bit in order to get them, which is a good quality to have when truly crafting something.

I don't deny the possibility of having the item available at level 32, though I think there could be something more here still.

Those are my two cents, so take them for what they're worth, even if it's simply two cents.

Now, I actually had a question, if I were to design/suggest an area, would I be able to come up with completely new ingredients as well as items, or is that something Staff would decide on or at least tweak? As well, would anyone want to work with me to come up with these, as I'm not a master crafter?

Sarah's shield would probably be worth well over a mil if bought from a shop with 22 base (2nd highest in game) +1 strength (the only shield of its type) and with a .05% spell absorb (again only shield of its type). i also didnt understand how a shield would give a ranger +1 str.

Library info for Mithril Boots:
Armor base: 4, Can be worn by: clerics, druids, fighters, mages, paladins, rangers, thieves, Description: Diligently crafted by a master silversmith, mithril has been masterly pounded into thin and lightweight footgear., Level needed to equip it: 32, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Absorb spell:0, Single equip: 0.

-in description silversmith can be replaced by blacksmith-

Ingredients:

Coal x2 (is used to polish Orc's Granite, one for each boot) + Orc's Granite x2 (one fo each boot) = Polished Granite
Polished Granite + Mithril Product = Mithril Boots

Reasoning: Boots of Time is a lvl 29 item available to all classes with 6 armor and stat mods, next available is 4 armor for fighters only, and next is 2 armor for all other classes. This item brings boots slot up to 4 armor without breaking the plain of past items which wont allow a class to get more armor then before, but will alow for different choices in boots for these classes.

Estimated Worth:75,000 gold

Brogans

Armor base: 7, Can be worn by: fighters, Description: These sinister looking shoes have been infused with a type of darkness unakin to other types of footwear to instill fear into others. Offering the same mobility as other protective gear, these have been fashioned to allow to utmost protection when needed.,Level needed to equip it: 32, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: -1, Absorb spell: 0, Single equip: 0.

Posted Image

Orc's Granite x4 (2 each boot for color and darkness) + Necromancer's Charm x 2 (1 for each boor for 'fear') + Mithril (to craft boots)

Reasoning: Highest armor boots in game are Boots of Time that allow all classes to wear bot have stat modifiars, the next best boots are a plain 4 for fighters. these boots fill a void for fighters, at a higher level. As well, fighters should be able to wear a boot that gives more armor then the rest of the classes (heavier boots). the -1 charisma is due to the 'fear' it instills into other people.

estimated worth (125k)

Hey everyone! It's been a while, so I decided to poke my nose around the forum. I miss doing item designs for quests and whatnot, so I thought I would poke my nose in. Saw something with a nice title and decided to give it a whirl. I'm thinking about coming back to the game once I get things settled. So why not contribute a little right?

Library info for Mithril Dragon Chain:
Armor base: 3, Can be worn by: clerics, druids, Description: No clue, not good with that type of stuffs.,

Let me give this a shot. Its been a while since I've done item descriptions. But why not help out one that has a nice title.

Mithril Dragon Chain (I prefer the spelling "Mythril", but do what you will.)

Stats - See above quote.

Description: The mithril chain shines with a luster that resembles polished silver, but with a very slight blue hue. Not only is the metal of the chain something to be marvelled, but also the adornments hanging from it. Evenly spaced around the front of the chain are dragon fangs, all spun with fine wires of mithril and looped into the links of the chain, giving it a look that is near feral or tribal in design.

My thoughts for items to craft could be:

X Mithril Ingots (For metal to craft into the chain and twine the fangs)
5 Dragon Fangs (Its been a while, not sure about dragon fang related items, could be substituted with claws)
X Leather Bag of Coal (To fuel the furnace to melt and craft the Mithril Ingots)

Since Inventory size is limited to 14, and I believe there should be a minimum of 5 Dragon Fangs (or related item) Why not split up the last 9 remaining inventory positions with 6 Mithril Ingots and 3 Leather Bag of Coal.

Just a thought, saw something nice and tried to help.

Stig, on a side note, Ive done item descriptions before, I cant quite remember which ones were used or not, but they are in the game, if you want help with any others, dont be afraid to drop me a message here on the forum or leave me a memo on Shapeshifter.

I think the main problem with my approach to this post was complaining about players balancing the crafted items, etc.
Stealing the concepts, descriptions, etc. is what a more mature and improvement focused staff member would do. There are lots of good ideas here, though most everything would need balancing and tweaking...

Also, if I acted like a turnip to something you posted, I'm sorry. Everyone's trying to get improvements and put forth their ideas...it doesn't need a self-righteous pin-head nit-picking and hating. I should have taken a more constructive approach.
Wisdom is the principle thing. Therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding.

My old idea. I'm hoping maybe there's some room for it nowdays! Little changes to the original.

Library info for Bow of Atrophy:
Base damage: 24,
Can be used by: rangers, Description: A bow made of the rotted flesh and bones of multitude of demons. Demonic auras eminate from and keep this unstable mess of remains into a very tight fit, a lethal shot. The dark, thin bowstring, antagonizing yet alluring, almost appears to call out to it's owner. Though of demons once dead, one must wonder..is this bow alive?, Level needed to equip it: 35, Magical: No, Vamparic: No, Armor: -3, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: , Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: .

Not magical, a weird option for a ranger bow. It's to bring back what elven used to be for lvl 30 before cobalt bow (and now others), a high damage non cg wreckage weapon. This is the grandmaster version of elven basically, without having to overshadow other bows since it's not magical, has no vamp, and takes away a bit of armor.

Here are some crafting compenents, some are new.

Library info for Darkwind Bow:
Base damage: 23,
Can be used by: rangers, Description: Though a prized weapon of ____, better weapons at his disposal have caused this to be more of a trophy. Old and in bad condition..there just might be a way., Level needed to equip it: 33, Magical: No, Vamparic: No, Armor: -15, Strength modifier: 0, Intelligence modifier: 0, Dexterity modifier: 0, Constitution modifier: 0, Wisdom modifier: 0, Charisma modifier: 0, Poison chance: , Poison/30s damage: 0, Monster damage table: , Mana leech: .

Darkwind Bow

20% drop from demonic general, halberd changed to 80%

or

20% Aetthol, not sure about other drop rates

or

Library info for Rotten Flax Cord:
Description: A rotten flax plant in cursed lands doesn't seem like it'd be anything other than sickening, but someone was able to put weave these into a respectable thick cord. It's smell is grotesque, you best find your use for this before you pass out., Type of item: Doesn't do anything special, or is a key.

Dropped by Demonic/Black Archer  new monster in underground barracks/forest of silence.

The Demonic Archer stands tall, his rotten body..so stable. He hasn't moved...in years..decades..he stands at his station, for all of time, waiting to give or receive death. As you come before him, his head turns toward you, his eyes give a quick red gleam, and as he starts to let his arrows fly. The Demonic Archer is in a healthy conidition.

The Dark Archer stands tall before you. His body lightly claded in in plates, and a dark hooded shroud covers the rest. He glimpses you trespassing the castle. He knows you not but, orders are orders. The Dark Archer is in a healthy condition.

10% less hp than Dark Knight

Same pod

Attacks/stam comparable to Dark Knight, aswell as one that can peice armor. 5% drop

Give to a certain NPC for

Library info for Dark Flax Cord:
Description: Without such an unappealing smell, perhaps you'd have good use for such a strong material. It's pull feels tight enough to rip off your fingers, yet no harm comes, Type of item: Doesn't do anything special, or is a key.

Full recipe sent to Stig.
