If they think Devastate is overpowered Jono, just buy Cobalt and put it on DarkAssassin and show them how petty Devastate is in comparison.

Exactly.... Cobalt on an already overpowered thief would be sick... thing about the cobalt, though, is that i could pop someone with it on DarkAlliance then just stick it back on a zerk and train a bit.... Not the deal with devastate, once u "equp" you cant change to a diff crit... lol plus the fact that cobalt u only gatta be lvl 25 and Devastate would be 35...

cobalt ftw? devastate for 2nd ;)...anyways add devastate... it wont hurt anything..mages will still get clicked with or with out it :ph34r:

Why is AC always talked about when thieves come up? Assassinate ignores armor has time I knew.. its all about your dex. Same thing with smite.

Okay, I really find it pointless to continue deleting posts.

You can keep taking your own topic off-topic, and it will be locked, or you can stick to your request.


Devastate is not about comparing mages to thieves. They are different classes, the 1-alt server is not balanced, we know that, and adding devastate is not a balancing mechanism---at the very least, it is not at this point.
Perhaps there are special ways to use other classes that haven't been explored yet, and thieves were just easy to figure out?
Maybe you should check out how tandams work, such as mage and zerk, etc...
The server is not all about 1-1 class workings.


Thieves assassinate was improved on both servers; so stop pretending like it is all about us wanting them to be better on 1-alt. They were awful to begin with, and players found them to be good now.


Finally, we didn't say adjustments would not be made until th server is fully updated/balanced, whatever other things you are tossing out there. We said no players are to these levels that they are claming will leave mages useless, etc.
So your argument is completely invalid without having any experience in using such characters.
That does not say that the server has to be completely done. Nightmist changes all the time, the code is worked with, areas are made----the servers are never completely done.

As for not tryin other classes... I have a lvl 31 zerk (unbelievably useless) i had an arch pally (useless on 1a).... lvl 33 thief (overpowered much).... 35 mage.... constantly getting clicked..... gg

The other classes do not make the same gold as thieves, considering I can go to museum and sit with some food and water and make 1 mill

I don't think i claimed that the min assass raise was just to make thieves better in 1a.

---------That statement just makes me laugh... i claimed that at level 35 which achilles is atm... he gets clicked by lvl 31 thieves (spelled) and 35 thieves unspelled.... MAKING HIM USELESS

I believe that Devestate should be added as well. I mean, I do believe that it is a tad bit unfair when a lvl 35 thief can click a lvl 35 mage with 162ac... but maybe that's just me?

If Devestate were to be added, there would be much more incentive to play for myself as well as others.

Would hope to see it added at a cheaper cost but who knows... :S

You think you have problems getting clicked by lvl 35 thieves? Just wait til you get lvl 35 zerks with 8 stam...

Problem is that you can get a mage to lvl 40 and Walt will still click you.

Tandems such as mage and zerk...lol...of I go to the desert to train mage and zerk...amusing concept...



Ok enough, I worked out the problem.



Nm1a is meant to be about teamwork, right? You know, people getting together to train etc. The problem is that ONE CLASS has a superior vampiric weapon, meaning that people can solo train. Guess what? SOLO TRAINING IS WHAT PEOPLE LIKE DOING. Result? Lots of high level thieves.

Solution? Remove Dotw, or else give all other classes an equivalent weapon. I would suggest a spell for mages that makes Beam vampiric, rather than a vamp. weapon.

Beam being vamp wouldnt solve the problem either... With achilles i can solo train dessy ezpk because nothing can hit me.... But i blow through mana so fast that its not worth it... Thieves dont have to worry about mana, they just have to wait until they get hungry/thirsty 7 times, run back to town then do it all over....

DotW being removed nice....

Dotw is big problem, but what is going to happen when all these thieves start getting Cobalt's, Which they will be getting them before all other classes b/c of Dotw's. And once they do get cobalts NO other class will even be in comparison...

That would help to give other classes a better chance. And if not completely get rid of armor penetrating, at the least higher the % to which armor affects assassinate.

I was talking about posts WAY before the ones I deleted.
The ones that were actually on topic.
And you assume, like so many other people always seem to, that the only person that I am speaking to is you, which is wrong. There were 4 or 5 other players who had their posts deleted because they were completely off topic.

You are talking about mages being useless at level 37 because they will not do enough damage, and as I've said and been misunderstood both times, none of you have mages that have experienced such levels.


However, as I've said, this topic has gone into discussing balancing the classes, thieves with DotWs, etc, and not the spell devastate or why it is reasonable to just toss it in without working on balancing other aspects.
This is like how the magic resisting bracelets were put in when players were getting level 31+ because mages owned everyone so much between 25 and 31...

Now players have found DotWs, and we don't know what else may become exceedingly powerful.
The game isn't balanced, but that isn't what your post was about, and devastate has not been discussed much over the past page, so I'm locking it.
