I think a filter is an awesome idea and it will cut almost all swearing out . . . appart from the random flamer who hates his life and feels the need to bypass the filter to get himself banned so he can get a life . . .

Just like on the forums a lot of people swear and the word is filtered no harm done

i totaly understand you and jlh are the founders of this GREAT but darn adictive game*allways will think its adictive mwahahaha* and you two have the right to do anything you would like to do to the game and implement any rules you two would like. But i do got one question for you two. If you two want use to stop swearing so badly why do me and many other ppl that play nm see you cussing all the time in open chat?(ive accualy only seen jlh cuss like once or twice lol but iam sure they're have been more times).

ingame i swear yes and it's not all the time. i've been banned for cussing and pandi put me in prison for a while (and he forgot to take me out too) i've been punished for it. and i will accept the consequences for cussing. if they c me cuss they ban me. i even had aidon ban me once when i cussed when he was on his normal crit, the next day he banned me because i cussed the day before and he was on his staff crit this time. so at the moment he banned me i didn't do anything wrong. i was banned for something i did the day before! so don't go talking crap that i dun get banned or anything. I'm no saint but i'm not the devil either and your making it look like the only words i know are cusses

I see nothing wrong with swearing in friend chat, if your on my friends list then you should know I only do it when really upset and not on a regular basis.
Friends chat should be private and whats said there kept between friends.
If ya don't like the language or whats said then tell me and your off my list 4 eva.

rofl yeah right?...my self have seen you cuss more then three times...twice at sgh and one in sgh bank....i remember you cussing few times...dont try and be a saint lol....but i still can honostily only remember one time ever hearing jlh cuss...and it was at me lol..when i was buging him...lol

Trigger Happy, Jen banned herself only a short while back when getting a name wrong by accident and announcing a cuss word as winner. I have no reason to doubt that Oracle tells the truth when he says staff banned themselves for cussing.

And Rappy, you are cussing in pages, last time only this morning. As I told you when you complained about my talk with Jim, remove me from friends if you don't like it. After that I removed you, you never removed me. You got back on my list when I did a /friend copy alt without noticig that I had you on that alt's list too, but I removed you again as soon as I noticed it, thanks to your cussing at me in fc.

Why even ban people? They don't learn from it. In fact, some people want to get banned. So I suggest that the staff figure out a way to just scramble all communication attempts in place of a foul language ban. And I'm not talking about just making them have drunk speak, I am talking about every letter randomized. Sure a few people would still try foul language, but not being able to communicate would get old fast.

If someone is consistently banned for language and their profile staff comment gets full we ban them for a month or so rather than a day. Surely they don't want that?

Depending on the staff member, it could range from a warning to a day-ban, a few day-bans, a week ban, a month ban or even a permanent ban.

Of course, if you don't want to take my word for it, you could always start yelling swear words and see what happens.
