I've seen your suggestions. And I know where you stand on a lot of issues through your posts.

And, simply because it seems that our opinions mimic each others in some respects, I give you my full support. I know you can make Nightmist better.

I completely support the idea of you becoming a sysop again.

It's all about experience, and that you certainty have. I always looked up to you and thought you were a great staffer, and even more, a player.

(Would you still have the name Pengant, and the Squall pic, and the... um.. Grand Sword of Kalados? If I remember correctly, hehe).

Good luck!

To answer you, hoping Ste won't mind if I open my mouth in his place yet again...

A lot of staff has disappeared over the past months (or was it years?), slimming down the amount of actual staff online to 0 at times. The trading system may be automated by now, but that still won't reduce the need for staff to show a certain amount of presence to keep people in check. Ste has excellent people skills, always gettign his point across in discussions without becoming insulting or conceited, which is exactly what we need.

Also Ste has always brought up excellent ideas for new areas and other ways of improving the game, always well thought out and in detail, many of which were either implemented or at least used in other areas partially. Instead of having him explain his ideas and areas to another staff member that might be busy working on their own creation it makes much more sense to let him do the job himself. That way it gets done without having to cross time zones, match online times to work on somethign together etc.

Staff positions may not be "publicly posted" right now, but if there is a way to improve the game by hiring someone, I think it should be done. I see nothing but advantages in Ste becoming staff again.

Stigmata has my support, though we have never talked ingame I respect you as a player, and I will respect you as staff, again. The game could use another staff member that is around and available, and I believe you would fit back in well. Also maybe help get some areas pushed into the game and liven things up a bit.

You have my vote.

Ste, Ste, hes our man!

I've spoken to you once or twice in game, and in the past people have told me you were a really good member of the staff team. I think we need to have more events and stuff going on so its not the same thing day in and day out- hopefully (and i think you will) bring a positive aspect by becoming staff again.

And thats all i have to say about that.

Ste, I know we have had many disagreements but for the most part we've always been "there" for eachother in a sense, regardless of our 'relationship' in game.

When you were staff, you came up with some pretty good ideas and some bad ones which we've already discussed, but for the most part you always tried to help players out. Back then you were pretty self-righteous and on my case most of the time, so in turn I was on yours. There were a lot of things that happend when you were staff that I didn't agree on but I don't care to be specific about them on forums.

You got accused of cheating many times, mainly by me and I created a bad reputation for you. However, unlike others *cough* I can admit when I was wrong. I no longer believe you cheated, being staff myself I see the connections between several incidents and know now how annoying and unruly players can be.

With all that said, again I apologize for the past BS and *hopefully* welcome you back to the /staff team.

This is nothing against stigmata, but I don't think there should be any more staff. In my opinion the ultimate goal should be a game which mostly runs itself, only needing minimal interaction from the (still two?) admins. Events need a staff member to be watching over them yes, but there are already more than enough staff members to handle this alone, I'm sure at least one of them is still active. Pretty much everything else I can see as being able to be automated - or not needing a staff character to do.

Harky, You make a good point - In reply to your post, I feel that automation would also be the way to go when considering the trade system etc and common tasks that shouldn't really need a staff member's guidence.

But you cannot automate creativity - something I feel I would bring to the game in many forms, whether it be areas, new ideas etc.

Thanks for the apology jen, accepted obviously - Was nice of you to post on here too to clear the issue up.

Not to disrespect you Ste, but there are alot of people who have good ideas and alot of creativity, but their voice won't be heard. You have an advantage over most, I just hope any new additions to the staff will allow for more projects to undertake to improve the game.

Yeah no disputes there - I know alot of players have vast amounts of creativity, i've been impressed actually with the recent suggestions from a few of the players on the forums.

Edit - I feel my experience as a player (and former staff) would be a great benefit to the game's development. I see myself to have a good knowledge of how everything works, and think that I could use that knowledge for the good of the game.

And i'd always be willing to undertake new projects.

Yeah I can understand why people are needed for expanding on the game in a non technical sense, but I just don't see the need as them being on staff. Like for example the first area's Anthrax and I built, they were created using a program which I believe JLH sent us, and were put into the game from that. The only thing I can see as beneficial about a builder being a staff member is that they can test the area and tweak things, but again there are ways around this without giving people access to the main game; another game I play has a bare version of the client for offline use for building - which would be similar to the online client only without the map obviously, and it would need an option to output the map so that it can be sent to admins. I can understand a need for some staff members for certain things, and I'm sure you'd be good at it. I never really saw you on staff, I was inactive or quit just when you were getting started. I just feel like maybe there are too many staff as it is.

Not as if it matters seeing I'm leaving, but if you get staff back good for you. You will prove what I've always said, and many others have always thought yet never stepped up and said it as bluntly I have. This being that if you kiss ass long enough and good enough you will get what you want.

The way I see it, you didn't take leave or anything, you quit. That says alot in itself don't you think? Now that areas have been designed, added, etc.. you want back. And now all I see here are people now trying to kiss your ass for if/when you do get staff back again. Thats right kiddies, start early.

Ste, if you return to staff I want to wish you my congradulations on having the brownest friggen nose in NM. Your persistance hath paid off.

Note: Replying to this will not get a responce for I've said my piece

No disrespect obviously, but alot has changed since you were on the staff team Harky, and although area development used to be relatively(lol) simple (descs/monsters etc) a whole new array of additions have been added that can only be implemented properly through experimentation. No possible way could I develop some of the ideas I have for areas without actually getting to try them myself. Moving monsters/npc as an example - took me and wodan several painstaking hours to get the chronos guides moving properly (not sure if youve seen them) which is something I know JLH does not have the time for.

Obviously the current staff could always help, but I feel i'd be a useful addition to the team in any aspect - and I know they would prefer to work on their own areas, as it's definately easier to get a theme going when you have a background idea/story in your head.

Yeah Dan, great. Your entitled to your opinion I suppose.

Here's something you probably don't know though. It's not the first time I've asked pandilex to return to the staff team, he's turned me down before. Now considering this, why would I continue to 'kiss ass' when I knew I wouldn't be rejoining. The only difference on this occassion is the huge support from the players who are obviously noticing and appreciating some of the ideas and questions I am raising.

Is it so hard for you to understand that I truely do have good intentions for the game. I've been here for over 4 years......

Also to accuse the players that replied to this topic for the reasons you did is moronic, and laughable. I guess if i'm the example of how 'brown nosing' gets you everywhere, then you'd be the perfect example of how being a 'moron' gets you no-where?

If anyone is 'kissing-ass', it sure as hell isn't Ste doing the ass kissing, but people kissing his ass. He's one of the greater players.

(No, I'm not kissing ass by supporting Ste, just calling it).
