I believe he said you can't party with non qst people and no getting gold to non qst folks he didn't say you can't get help. Read more thoroughly before trolling please.

Non qst players cannot assist or pk qst players.

And yes, ill be monitoring all logs to check if anything has happened.

It seems to me Freek, you are doing all you can to interupt this quest for the people who wish to take part, without actually taking part yourself. That is very anti-social and will be treated as such.

I'm just trying to clarify your rules since they were so Broad, and you still didn't answer my question. If non qst's are killing a boss and qst comes in does it not count? If qsts are training in the area as non qsts does that count? Need specifics because we all know how nightmist goes. Until there is a definite rule staff will look at each case individually and even thought the "same" thing took place a different outcome will be the conclusion.

Non quest players cannot provide any form of aid whatsoever to QST registered crits.

Non quest players may not attempt to hinder qst players in any way shape or form.

If anyone is found to be doing this, they will be removed until the quest is over. Its that simple, and the point wont be argued over.

Again to broad. What fits under aid? Me already being there and them walking in on a mod boss? etc etc

"Aid" and "Hindering" doesn't really help.

Can you mention ahead of time whether the prizes will just be name changed items, amazingly OP (in the eyes of some) like the ring of nausea, or somewhere in between? Would affect my decision on how I spend what relatively little free time I have.

Also, will name changes be paid for to get them back to normal without the QST_ prefix or should we plan on having to pay for that ourselves?

I agree the rules are too broad. Should have planned it out more and got jlh to create a server for a short period of time.

I was wondering if anyone would like to chip in and set up a clan for the quest just so we can use it as nopk/chat to help eachother out and find groups for trips and such. We could figure out how many are willing and calc out the gold required per player and set it up when we're level 10 or so.. it wouldn't matter who is chair/founder/leader or if we got any rooms it would be just easier to communicate with people who would like help or to help out others during the quest.

It might not be worth the gold right off the bat but its just a thought.

I've decided on a ling ranger(Qst_Gampo) as my quest character as I got sick of rolling and thats what I had.

If only there was a function in game for us to do that without spending the gold on making a Quest Clan, we could even call it "friend chat" or " enemy chat".

Teaming up as a Quest unit is a good idea, and will enable all to gain exp/gold that much faster. Making a clan is a waste of gold imo because if doing this quest properly gold is going to be slow and you'll need not only to buy armor/weapons but also pots and mana.

You cannot have a Clan, i spoke with Jase the other day and he said he was doing 2 Clans?

He could have mis read my question as we were discussing CTF for the Qst chars 5 minutes before.

my question will be how will players be allowed to buy stuff off of site. as a non quest member can put a gauntlets of virtue on site for 20k for quest players to buy and wont be easily trackable. will quest players only be allowed to buy off site from other quest members? that seems to make the most sense to me

My sharers and I do not own a webcam. Team Speak could be pulled off, as that's what we use... But on such a short notice and to invest money like that for NM, I now doubt I will be involved.

Oh wait, I could buy a webcam, prove it to you and return it immediately... Still not 100% certain this is 100% proof of lack of multi-pcing though.

Question:

If you cant multi pc check now, how are you gonna do it during the Quest?

If you can Disqualify people from the Quest for multi pc'ing then surely you can ban them.

Cant Ban/Disqualify for something that isnt 100% proven.

I dont have a webcam either, but I also don't have any sharers, housemates or irl friends that play nightmist so it shouldnt be too big of an issue with me.. the only issue might be that I log on at home sometimes and at work sometimes from the same computer as i bring it to work everyday so I dont have to use the ragged setup we got at the shop haha. but if thats a problem I could make it easy on staff and refrain from logging my Qst crit at work at all and only log it when I am at home.

btw thanks ahead of time staff for trying to run something fun despite a big lack of optimism, I'm one of the ones that realize not all events are gonna be a success right off the bat and most need tweaking/work as you find problems along the way.. not everything can be 100% perfect right away. I've been a part of a few events/quests/new areas gone wrong over the years and yet those are some of the more fun moments where you can look back and say "wtf were we thinkin". I dont play 1a anymore unless a friend needs help training/tokens whatever and loans me a char to use, this event has me optimistic and willing to give the server another try.

New rules are nice, much more clear. <3

Edit: One question though, a character can only win one of each prize. I'm sure reaching 30 would be excluded from that, but possibly first level 30 and nicest lvl 30 too?

And to answer Cadabra, i cannot ban for multipc because it cannot be proven. And i will not ban for it during the quest.

I will however, disqualify anyone i believe to be multipcing from the quest. This is fair warning to those who multipc, so please listen.

Do not do it during this quest, or you shall recieve no benefit at all from the quest.

Qst_ Characters are restricted to one per IP logged in at any time. If multiple people play from your IP you must memo me first, and appear on webcam AND be subject to multipc checks at any time.

My sharers and I do not own a webcam. Team Speak could be pulled off, as that's what we use... But on such a short notice and to invest money like that for NM, I now doubt I will be involved.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Personally, I find it highly suspicious that 5-7 people will have the same IP address....

Sharing itself is not a problem if you all have different IPs then you have nothing to worry about, however several 'people/neighbours/wife' having the same IP and logging on/off at the exact same time, and going afk at the same time, and not being able to run to different places when requested is a touch suspcious imo. However, I'm sure several people are fairly glad I'm not staff on the 1a server.

Either way Happy Questing....hopefully I get cool/active people in my clan.

Yeah, I'd ban on suspicion for multipcing. It would come to an end pretty quick after a couple people were made an example of. I find it ridiculous that Bill was banned for a month not long ago for multipcing when it was in fact Ed on the other character for real, yet Alec, Jordan, and Chris (probably more people too) do it regularly and blatantly at that. I'd have a 0 tolerance policy with cheating.

Seems to me like 2 months of looking through logs for every character in the quest their entire time online would be VERY exhausting and boring for such a simple quest. Could have had fun designing an area with an epic boss/adventure and kick back and enjoy watching people attempt it. Could have been opened for an extended period of time as well with numerous drops from several bosses used to craft final items.

Glad to see a quest out for sure though at the same time! Something is always better than nothing.

Should have banned on suspicion awhile back. There are people who multi pc and make it completely obvious yet there is no way to "prove" it. Come on now. lol

I don't really know what fits under "bosses" or not since pede and croc were added on the list but I am guessing this means we cannot kill mayor to train in museum and such then? or any of the "bosses" that drop keys? what about small things like elshira or gnoll captain?

since we can only buy shop items and not keys and stuff off site could we please atleast have 3ej added to that list of bosses so we could purchase items in cloud city?

if not, no biggie just a couple things I was wondering.

I do think forcing quest players to only fight certain bosses is a bit restrictive, especially for more creative or adventurous players. Personally I would prefer it that non-quest players can't fight the basic ones like Spider King and Demonic General and the like, so they can be fought without hindrance, but if quest players want to go take on something not on there, they can do, but at their own risk. I guess the problem is avoiding issues where quest players and non-quest players both end up taking it on at the same time.

The problem is someone could attack a boss almost to death, then log and kill it with there Qst_ character. And then claim complete ignorance.

Mayor is not a boss. Anything that drops keys and only keys is fair game.

Elshira is not a boss for this quest, and is fair game.
