Some of these belong in other places but to save space i'm just going to put everything in one thread.

LOGIN OPTIONS
During heavy lag when the server rejects connections and boots people repeatedly, the only way to login for most of us is with Alt. DNS selected so everytime we have to log on an alt we have to wait for the "server could not be found yadda yadda" box to pop up before we can select alt dns and get on. Would be great if you could alter it so it stays checked like alt. port untill a user manually unselects it also, would save a lot of frustration

TEXT BUFFER
I know this was changed before, but i think we all agree it's best advantage is when able to remember individual alts last saved size even after relogging, it becomes quite tedious if a user owns more than 3 or 4 alts. Currently there is no point to a save option for each alts buffer number -because it sets the whole account to the same settings as the last character you've played after the character disconnects anyway, correct me if i am wrong?

MACROS EDITOR
Players claim that more than 12 command line boxes per-macro set would improve it greatly. One suggestion for extra key options are CTRL+ keypad numbers 1-9, they are not used by windows according to what we know thus far (anyone know otherwise?).. if not id go for it

MACROS EDITOR
More players seems to agree /s macro is not used enough by users to be perm, I also do not use this myself and agree it should be removed from the editor settings.. possibly update it if not remove totally? (Any ideas to enhance it are welcome or even if you disagree please post!)

BAN/Perm BAN
My husband and I discussed the ammount of tolerance Admin have for users who are recurring nuisances to all staff and players alike. We agree that staff put up with an increasingly disgusting amount of ungreatful players and are too merciful when implying current constraint & punishment methods. Many players somehow find their way back into the game after perm. bans just to be ignored while the whole game is irritated by them. The rules are listed on the website and are not being used properly. Even things as simple as adding comments to profiles of players who get in trouble constantly are getting a lil slacked on by most staff. We suggest a ban be changed to a ban, no 24 hour ones just straight banned perm all combined. Ban all alt names, delete alts and ban isp. If players aren't being players they don't belong on nm..personal experience if its not bad enough for a ban, jail is great. No one uses that anymore. We just want to see staff back on top of things and stop hiding from players under a cloak, the more staff hide the more players dislike them. Dont ignore the players or be rude if they are friendly, they are probably what decides how gratifying or miserable your job can be and its always nice to have a friendly staff you can depend on. get on it guys! lol

DRUIDS BUGGED?
I do not know if anyone else has noticed this other than myself so im speaking up here. During training if you are using Gaea's Blessing it will frequently still appear casted and does not show the text emote when it wears off, therefor if you recast the spell again it will add another 27-29 ac to what your stats already say. My druid has 21 wisdom, 55ac normal 86 with gaea's and if it wears but still sais 86 i can cast again and it will go to 115...I am not sure if this bug is caused by the spell or packet loss? shrug, just seemed to go un noticed lol. I've also noticed sometimes hp will still be low on a crits' bar after healing to full by a healer unless i relog or it gets poisoned. the poison message causes the bars to refresh...(i dont know how to fix it but it is kind of abuseable..??)

This is about all I can remember for now I will post more if more come to me..please post all opinions just please be polite and logical ..don't fight please :)

Ahhhhhhhh I concu loggin can be a big pain in the arse....making it seem to take hours. And /s macros hahahaha I haven't even used it once or even really know how to use it :) I do like the macros grid and the new additions of using 4 seprate sets. Great idea....other then that I have had same problems with muh druid and sometimes even on other class my armor goes uo to different lvls and stays there till I do a /refresh. But hey keep up the opinions

Jen taught me how to use the /s macro a couple of days ago, so i finally understand it.

4 sets of macros is like..one of the best additions ever...i'd ask for 8 but it is better for me to learn to use 4 or so lol..gd cleric as main needing me to have so many macs...

Repeatedly getting banned is kind of annoying. I don't think people should be kicked out of game though. It really depends on what they do in my opinion. It doesnt really make sense to get rid of someone who's gotten in trouble for swearing a few times, but when it comes to people being utterly disgusting towards other players or staff...sure, get rid of them...all the better for the game's character.

I think the lower hp thing is just the box kind of spazing, it's gone away all but one time as long as i /refresh'ed, but the other time it didnt and i had to log and re-log on before it'd make any sense again.

I use /scroll on all but 1 or 2 crits any time i do anything, so really the text buffer has never mattered to me.

Logging in, i talked to JLH just last night cause i saw him in zeum. He said that my idea from the old forums of doing '/load blah, blahh, blahhhh' (as in loading more than one crit at once using that command /load) is going to be added once the server is updated again, which could be a while, but it's been coded in and everything :) I dont know that this will fix the logging in bugs though :-\

i think that people should be given a new storage thing where they can type '/abuse' and paste in messages other players send them, that can be looked at by jlh or pandi and warnings can be sent to players, rather than a ban since players often are very hostile and rude without using any words that are against rules...but then again..that's a lot of reading to do..and memo's being sent...might be better just for staff to be able to focus on doing their other stuff, and players would probably be able to fabricate pages and general chats.....i dont know why i'm not just backspacing this idea...-tweedles on-

well, nice post Jess.

/s macro rules- The reason people don't use them is because most of them don't know how, I myself use them quite frequently.... Training, I'll just put /cast enhance/ on my cleric then enhance all my crits by doing /s name and voila, no more need for an individual macro for each!

Staff Uncloaking- ..There's really no need, if there's a player yelling for help and one of us is on i'm sure we'll help them. Other than that everything is automated or needs admin-help. Whenever I uncloak I'll get maybe 5-6 pages per hour and it's usually "MOSH!!!!!!!" or "Someone hacked my acct!" (which always turns out to be a sharing incident.)

Druid bug- You sure you're not casting stoneform as well? I haven't had that problem.

Connection problems - Haven't noticed any since last update... JLH seemed to fix whatever was bugging mine.

More Discipline - I think more bans need to put in, back when Cyric was staff everyone was afraid to even say the S word, now I see people throwing it back and forth like nothing. They need to learn to take the rules seriously, and there needs to be a stricter harassment policy. People are getting away with words like "fuk, smut, h0, fu q" etc, we all know what they mean..so they really should be banned for it but...some people disagree.

Anyway, good post.

Login, 1 of the cable lines went down unexpectedly tonight causing lag as everything had to go on 1 link, alt dns forces the client to check both lines to get on.

Text Buffer, you what?

Macro Editor, you want to remove a feature just because you don't use it and others might? NO
Use macro sets!

Banning Players, what can i say? i'm way to nice. tip, don't get caught by pandilex, or that usually happens!

Druid Bug, i'd need more info and confirmation from other players and how to make it happen etc

I dont beleive a perm ban is neceassry for everyone who gets banned. sometimes people make mistakes, they lose their heads in a fit of rage, and end up regretting it.i do beleive too much leaniency (sp?) i currently given to some players though. i think a cussing violation should be delt with by throwing the person in jail for a day first time, 2nd time a week ban, and 3rd time..i guess depends on frequency of infringements and the severity of them (i.e. cussing once in general chat or page might get a 1 month ban on 3rd whereas yelling a string of obsenities would get a perm ban) and if there is a 4th time, autimatic ban. i beleive besides that, everything else should be 1 month ban or perm ban

As ex staff i am sure there is currently plenty of spare time for them to just sit uncloaked to answer help pages. I recieved uncountable thankyous from younger players just for showing them how to access help commands and taking the time out to stop and help them understand it. Simple things many younger players have trouble with. And the same with pages saying "You are the only staff thats ever uncloaked or on at this time of day who will help". If someone persists to harass you after you tried to be serious then they are breaking rules. Most of those type of players are very aware of them considering its the first thing they see when they log on. Even automated trades are faulty in the fact that someone can simply swap a crits name before sending and steal. I see no reason why regular staff do not go out of their way to help the tension between themselves and players, whats wrong with doing what you volunteered to do? lol.

As for the druid ac spell i am positive, i do not use anything else except morph+ enhance while training it.

edit: The text buffer does not save on each alt when you log them off. So if i have 3 alts with text buffers set to 2000, 3500 and 60000 and i log the alt with the 3500 text buffer last it saves as 3500 to every alt in the account

When I cast stone and geae I get 153armor. then my stone wears off and I cast stone again sometimes I get 152 or 154. When I cast stone and 5 sec later my gaea wears off I have to cast both spells again. Witch is a waste of mana because I just cast stone.

I've had a similar problem with enhance, when I've been lagging. Have any of you tried /refreshing to see if it makes a difference? Does it act as though it is that given armor?

I agree that the game has gotten alot less disiplined. I have not seen any of the others due to the fact I am mostly active on the forum and not ingame but that is due to the whole disipline thing. I just don't like sitting there being pked then insulted when I take out an entire party of pkers with the brawn I had covert.

Just to say i'd like it if you could set the text buffer size by doing say /buffer 20000. And yes i agree it needs to be saved on each crit when you log...i found myself trying to fight ghularg with 13 crits on 56k, which isn't normally a problem, unless you have text buffer on all of them set to 80000.... :)

After giving up on the way the site said. I set about trying other ways.. Figured it out too (go me).

Here's an example:
/macrof1 /clan loc

So, you must type in:
/macro[macro number (f1, f2, etc etc)] [leave a space] [command (whether it be /a black bear or /page bishop Good day anything)]

If anyone needs further help, page me ingame on Bahthius

The staff put up with a lot. And if I we're on staff, I really doubt how often I would go uncloaked... the constant idiocy and abuse of the staff amazes me still. Though, if a staff member choses to come online uncloaked... they know what to expect. *shrug*

Banning Players: Could you create a filter? You know if any word that looks like the real word they could get banned. For example "Fuk, h0, biotch, sh!t, etc." All of those should be looked after. By having a Filter System, it could detect these sayings in all chat, except for private chat, and banned the user or it could be like the OLD forums and replace the word with another "nice" word.

In regards to a language fileter: A whole load of work wouldn't even need to go on it, I think just disallowing profanity in it's most basic and mundane forms would do an adequate job to curb potty mouthed players. After all, some defence has got to be better than no defence at all. People that abuse it thereafter can be reported to staff, whereupon action can be taken, as it would be a clear malicious attempt to break the rules.

I like the whole "cuss 3 times and you get a dayban" thing in other games. The server warns you each time you do it, and when you cuss the third time, instant dayban :)

I like most of her ideas. The ban seems a little harsh. Some of the wrong doings are only minor and staff just wants to show them they did something wrong. If they were to perm ban everything that someone did wrong we would have like 3 players in a month.

this armour bug happens every time...

AC unspelled - 76
with AR - 107
with CuD - 98
with both spells - 139

cast AR and CuD on my cleric, armour jumps to 139. When AR runs out, armour drops to 76 when it should be 98, coz CuD is still up.
Cast AR again, armour goes to 107, again ignoring the CuD
Also, if you have RF or enhance up, when rf/enhance runs out armour returns to 76, ignoring CuD again
If you try and cast CuD it says its already up, so you have to wait for CuD to run out, or log off/on to get it back

Another strange bug is if enhance/rf runs out when you have alts in your party your armour sometimes jumps to 100-odd, or even 140-odd
Cast enhance on yourself armour returns to 76

I don't really understand Alone's explanation of the /s macro.

Here is how i use mine.

you can type in something like this on the slot-

/cast enhance/

then you type in the main talking thing

/s [critname]

and it casts enhance on the crit. So----

/cast enhance/ on /s macro setting box

then in general chat type

/s everlast
/s lancaster
/s newb
/s image
/s cervix
/s gad
/s dangerous
/s prankster

and i've casted enhance on all of those crits.

If this doesn't make sense, please feel free to send me an IM on forums or memo/page me in game on Gaddy and I will see if I can make it make better sense..not really sure that this explains it well or not.

Omg, do not remove /s. I use it constantly when training. I'd much rather type out /s <name> than /cast enhance/ <name>.

It IS most useful (to me at least) as a enhance caster. My clerics tend to have a full score of heal macros, so I put /cast enhance/ in the /s field.

Gaddy did a wonderful explanation. /s is really useful when you know how you're supose to use it :)

When i log on Tienno he has attack and read as the two mice but if i log on xfx and tienno and set them up as according but log xfx off the assassinate function dissapears.............. why?

He wants it to save wat buttons you have clicked.

Like for example, if I have left click setup as assassinate, and my right click as lookover, then log off, both left and right click will be placed on attack *At least for most characters*

A simple option to save that little bit is what I think he is asking for.
