ok you know how theres account password ok well there should be a account luckdown which is theres a password inside tha account like a lockdown password which would make it where if u share ppl dont dunno password cant change password transfer crits to different account switch items gold ect ect with out tha lockdown password..so if u shared with 1 other person there be your acc and theres and one for your crits one for his hopefully you see wut im trying to say

i guess what he means is that we should have a password once we log into acct called a lockdown password so that if we share only the person that knows the lockdown pass can transfer anything out of the acct to a diff one.

Just like supervisors password on internet explorer for resticting access and content control would be a useful addition to the game and stop all this thief crap thats been an ongoing problem in the nightmist community over the past 3 years +

But that is why sharing isn't encouraged? It's just like sharing a bank account with your wife/husband whichever it may be. Both have access and it's a risk you have to take to share the benifits.

The only problem is, then if the kid wants to split, he needs the authorization, and the person with lockdown pass could easily take his stuff. Also, all they would have to do is /trade, this is a good idea, but it has too many flaws in it...

no cuz thats why each person who shared had his own acc so 2 acc for 2 ppl each person have there crits in there own acc but they know each other acc pw just not lockdown pw

They could still change the e-mail to the account as well.. assuming that you/they could get the 'lockdown' pass retrieval.

lol you ppl dont listen lol nuffin can be changed at all unless u have lockdown pw is wut im saying nuffin crit transfer item switches trades gold changes ect ect and if ur partner wants to do trades they can do it on there own acc why there would be 2 acc's 1 urs where ur crit would be other be ur partners where his crits would be that way nuffin can happen to a person acc with out tha owner on..

This really solves nothing. You do this and then lockdown passwords will be shared which will result in the same amount of stealing (possibly a tiny bit less).

The only way to stop stealing is to stop sharing - it's very simple.

It's a risk you take when you share. There are people who have access to my account and I would be really pissed off if either one took things from me, but I trust them enough not to, and if they do I have nobody to blame but myself for sharing my account info with the wrong people.

Staff has never, does not now, nor will ever support sharing, why would they add things to make it easier for you?

I posted this idea like 6 months ago, and it was shot down not just by staff, but by the players as well stating that sharing should not be supported, at the time i didn't agree, now six months later i do and you know why.. because people appear to be to stupid to get it... Why should staff take steps to protect you when you don't take steps to protect yourself...

Do not share your account with someone you would not give your 25,000 dollar credit card to, do not giveout your password and you won't get ripped.. why is it that if a noob is ripped, certain people scream don't share at them.. but if those same people(or friends of those same people) get ripped they started screaming exactly the same things the noobs did.

i support it, and there should be multiple password retrivals and they can only be changed by a pin/password. they should be made 3/4 slots for the pins/passwords b/c u never no how many u share with, but u only would need 2 pin/passes to trade crits or anything like that.

i did an expanded version of this idea a year and a half ago, while it's not a guarantee that items/gold can't be stolen it is 100% effective against crit theft, and the same principle could feasably be applied to items on crits. this was also shot down for the same bs but it would eliminate crit theft totally.

You could make it so Nothing could be moved from that "Account" name to another "Account" i.e

Sending a crit to a defrent account would require the "Lockdown" password

Moveing gold/items to a defrent crit in a defrent account would require the "Lockdown" password,

This will reduce theft alot. cause they cant touch nothing, long as they dont know the lockdown password,

And yeah like Will said, You use 2 accounts.

I think people should just accept that sharing means people can steal from you.

If you will do anything to prevent being stolen from, don't share.

There've been many great sharing situations, but most end up in the trash or with someone being ripped. Simply a matter of sharing being difficult to do after a while, and things become 'your's' or you claim to have done work and the other does also. If you're going to share, share with someone who isn't greedy or using the game as an ego trip of some kind. Someone who doesn't care enough to take stuff from you to be better.

so if u shared with some one u trusted and they took ur stuff that took years of work to get it be ok gaddy? i mean trusting ppl is part of game but things should be done i mean there are great ppl on this game it be shame to have them leave game cuz there stuff is taking then game would end up being full of all ppl who steal there wouldn't be any decent ppl on nm

yeh fact is ur allowed to steal, its not bannable and never will be, so theres no point to ask staff to do nething cuz they'll juss ignore u... so watch ur stuff carefully and do what u must...

Staff say not to share, why should they help you when you go against that and get stolen from? Dont share and you wont be stolen from. If you share, YOU put yourself at risk of being stolen from. If YOU risk it, it's YOUR fault, and you shouldnt be helped...

here's a different way of looking at it. this is an all ages game, so it's safe to assume that there will be more socially inexperienced, naive people who are less ethically matured then a game that requires, say, a minimum age. therefore it would make sense that we accomadate this game population by minimizing the damage that one person can inadvertantly cause themself. just as we protect the virgin eyes and ears of our tiny children in nightmist we should make an earnest effort to curb the devastation that the natural naivete of our all ages players can cause if totally unchecked.
