Now, I know what you're all going to say.. 'get lost, noob.'

But hear me out...

Imagine all damage, player to player.. Was halved...

Whoa.

'Hold on there bud... What?!'

No more instantly dying. Back to the prolonged fights of the past. When PKing was actually fun, and noobs stood a chance at fighting back (well, at least running).

Obviously this wouldn't affect normal training in any way, you'd still hit monsters the same, and still gain EXP at the same rate (that's, the slow rate :P).


Obviously, I do understand this game, and way its set up. And know this'll never be implemented - I just thought I'd share my thoughts of a brighter tomorrow with you all.

I like that idea actually. It probably will not be implemented, but I like it. The only drawback I can see with it is that Paladins and Clerics might have an unfair advantage with their powerful healing spells.

well this could be for duel areas and moshes with healing spells halved as well(no effect in random pks)

supported (healing would have to be halved too)

they should also halve exp or halve damage to monsters

In this sparring arena would the mana usage be halved also, and poison damage. Otherwise melee characters would have an advantage.

Also would druids mana leech be halved.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it would be that easy to code and balance up fairly.

Alternatively, perhaps if the hp/mp were doubled, and everything remained the same this would have the same effect with a lot less coding.

if that damned -10/+10 pk restriction can pass, then so can this. it may be a poor quick-fix but it still makes more sense than half of the large 'improvements that've come in the last couple years.
wouldn't it be funny if rich had registered this name first, and you were bickering with him?

why not reduced the cap to +5/-5 make fights a little more balanced?

the level pking restriction is a bad thing

maybe with no level cap there won't be 500 crits arched/day

Doubling the hp of every crit/monster in the game and doubling the result of the equation for hp in new/levelling characters would be better for the game. Healing could stay the same and poison damage etc wouldn't need to change.

It won't happen but personally I think this would improve the game.

-shrug- With what JLH posted on Ste's post I'm pleased.

However much anyone may doubt it, I dislike how easy it is to kill other players in Nightmist. I think it is ridiculous. I dislike the +/- 10 level rule, but without it, things could be absolutly retarded.

People quitting because of not being able to train AT ALL was a problem back in the day....at least it seemed to be. Some of us were semi-motivated by it though.


Eitherway, if JLH's plan doesn't simply make some alt limit come in, I will be very happy. Alt Limit = people getting an arch cleric and however many arch zerks, then just rounding people like they do now----limiting alts doesn't help if you can round other characters still.

We all know I'm just against alt-limits because I use alts, and it's the only way I can really play with what I do, but that's the same reason people want low #s of alts. It's what would benefit them.
