train them,
use them to make gold,
get more money and more,
buy good crits,
get more money,
get ubber cool items,
get more money,
buy better crits,
get more money,
make a main crit,
become rich,
get more money etc.

sounds simple, but it takes too much time.

Wrong. You don't need to create multiple characters just to play this game. You can be perfectly happy with just one. It will be hard on you and you will never be the most powerful player in game but it's my experience that people who use one character generally enjoy this game more.
