A few days ago I started a discussion in the help forums ( http://www.nightmist...?showtopic=3444 ) asking if the race bonuses were ever balanced out after the attribute point system was dropped from development. Since i've been gone from the game for almost a year i wasnt up to date on this issue, and now after several days Oracle has asked how people feel about the race bonuses. currently the bonuses are:

Human = 5% cheaper attribute cost
Elf = +5% damage in forest
dwarf = +5% damage underground
halfling= +7 AC
halfelf = +2 1/2% cheeper attribute cost +2.5% damage in forests
gnome = +5% resist -5% fizzle
halforc= +5 AC

Since the attribute point system was scrapped this leaves humans without a race bonus and halfelves with only +2.5 damage in forests. Do you people feel that the races should be rebalanced and that the humans and halfelves be given new bonuses? I cast my own vote towards Yes, please rebalance the races.

I agree humans atm are kinda lacking, they should be given a new bonus and h/elves given half of that along with their current half of the elven bonus.

It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise Humans and Half Elves get jacked. It's blatantly obvious, hell, the homeless guy down the street could clearly figure that. It's been discussed heaps of times before, it just hasn't been fixed yet.

humans are basically screwed, nothing good anout them, half elves are right up there with them (almost) with only half of elves racial bonus. halflings dont mae sense, theyre lucky so they get +7ac, so not only are they highest dexed race, they have most armor also? half orcs have least dex, yet their incredibly tough skin only gives them 5ac?

ummm Ice_cold were did you get that bit of info about halflings having the most armor??? last i checked AC stood for accuracy......and Joanna, i have a halforc fighter thats rockn so far, dude hits like a champ despite the low dex so i can say first hand i seen the bonus come into play

AC stands for armour class, not accuracy

your kidding right? unless i overlooked something, there has been nothing done to make their offence or defence better. now they are going to lvl a bit faster so that makes them better why? im lost why neone thinks this is a great improvement... does anyone else understand nothing during these changes makes them better at all it just makes them get to lvl 30 faster.

and right now in nightmist is that what we really need? more lvl 30s? or more depth in the characters?

all i know is that with this update on them it sure makes me want to use my human crits more ohh wait it dosnt lol

I know. I've always used mostly humans, now they are just more awesomererererer.

I cant help but get the impression that your possibly speaking on the topic from a PK vantage, which is all well and good, but the racial attributes in my opinion should have no lean towards PK'ing in any way shape or form, which might be why you have such distaste for the update?

The bonus to human is more appropriate than any of the other classes, and you can't point the finger at staff for adding to the advantage of Humans. The extra % keeps them in their category of 'a jack of all trades', meaninng they are good for all classes, but not having any specific area of expertise. For anything else to be changed on the human there would be a good chance of throwing this age old view of humans out the window.

Who cares, who says stuff has to be balanced, if you think one race is better then another then pick that race. Damn, next you gonna whine cause your ford can't keep up with a formula one racing car...

I agree with Deval - the human's bonus totally fits their whole neutral persona (no disadvatages while no real advantages).

then u see what i mean they are not awesome now, they are the same as they have always been they just get to lvl 30 a bit quicker then before. but u cant honestly say they are any better cause they arnt lol nothing has changed with them they lvl a bit fast then once they get to lvl 30 they are done having their minor advantage.
