Hey all. I started up an IRC chat for the game. If you have irc installed you can either:

Goto /server irc.gamesurge.net then /join #nightmist

or paste this link in your browser: irc://irc.gamesurge.net/nightmist

If you do not have an IRC client and wish to chat, goto http://www.mirc.com and download the app. Type in the required info (user name, etc) Then click the above link.

Hope to see some of you there.

PS. Im not trying to step on toes. I have problems with Java on my office PC, so IRC is the way for me. Plus IRC 0wns Java chats hardcore.

Yours is java chat, and although it uses irc, I haven't been able to connect via mirc. That detracts from its value I think. The server appears to disallow connections not from the java chat itself.

y not just goto the site? why should u need to use all this other stuff? going to the site and accessing the chat room from there shouldnt be a problem. plus, mIRC is 30-day trial now, im not paying for it...

No one is in ur chat so someone else is trying to make a successful one. I guess.

Get Pirch, theres plenty of downloads around .... I know of one place that has one they call their own, ChatFIRST and the also offer a mIRC that has their name on it. Its still the same thing as the one offered in the link above. But Pirch to me is better. But either of these is a client type of connection. These wont work with java apps.

Squiggle, take a look at the game world of NM. Most likely over half of them probably use a type of IRC prog on their pc. It has more control over a chatroom than java. Perhaps you should check into a different scripted chat room.

EDIT: I know there are chatroom packs somewhere out on the vast information highway known as the web that allow IRC and java apps to connect to the rooms. If I care about having a NM chat room I would put one on my site, but to me chatting in the game is enough for me. But just putting in my 75 cents.

I think it differs from Nightmist in that all of the regular players can talk to each other in a more relaxed environment. You don't have to be on the same square, and as a result you can talk to more people at the same time. I think it's a great idea, and anyone on IRC should add this server and room to their list like I have

man, i just never saw the point in making a chat room in the first place myself tbh. It's there coz its something extra, and incase anybody needs help lol. either way, if the mIRC one becomesmore successful ill just list that one too, then u can choose either way.

It was impossible to win the lottery a while ago because no one thought up the idea, but flying is proven to be impossible via testing.

Just cause Birds have wings doesn't mean they can fly..Dodo, Ostrich, Emu, and Pneguins....it could very well be possible someday for us to fly, evolution works in mysterious ways.
