It started 3 or 4 years ago when a friend introduced me to Nightmist. I played pre-reset for a while, had lots of fun there. . .
When the reset happened, I quit for a bit before starting up. In my early stages, I founded an all mage clan with my beloved friend Crew. When he quit, the clan fell apart from there.
When Gnome stats were changed, I got a free xp transfer to a different character, and Ste generously rolled me a halfling ranger that I then transferred the xp to. Bane was the ranger's name. I joined up with him in the original Brotherhood of Darkness and we thrived as a clan. The clan had its ups and downs, and it eventually self-destructed, back in the day when founders were the highest rank, and someone backstabbed.
I left BoD with several others when The Resistance was created. By now I began to play with alts, and my main character became Kazul. We had several great boss runs and war victories in the early ages of TR.
Three or four times I swapped my NM stuff for Diablo II or Rev stuff, then swapped back as my addiction called me back.
I began playing with 1 character again, it was much more enjoyable. I created Autek, and when I built up enough gold, bought a level 28 Human Paladin with a minimum HP of 303.
I joined up with Midnight Thorns, and met quite possibly the kindest people on Nightmist. Lokey, Fallen, Mono, Baby_Trey, they all helped me out immensly. I got to go to the Harabec Dungeon for the first time with them, amazing fun. It was there that Mono stayed back with me after a Blue Dragon run, and helped me get Autek the last few mill he needed to level to 30.
I later bought a 5 stat elf mage, and I named it Ketua. Leveled it from 19-30 in a few months, and rejoined TR so that I could pk. The PK'ing lost its shine and I went back to my paladin Autek.
I sold the mage and got enough gold from that to finish off my equipment, I had Autek with a Blade of Time, 4x RoA's, Baron's Bracelet, Spyglass, and the rest. Finally I had my Arch Paladin with 309 HP maxed out and I could effectivly play 1 alt.
In my last days of NM, the past couple weeks, I camped Elshira with Autek, got her like 15 times and she never dropped.
A few days ago, I went out of town to visit my grandparents, and I get back to my password being switched. Don't know who did it, don't really care. The only people who had my account and password, were some of my best friends I know in person, and hate to think that they would do such a thing as steal from me. I log on to see that the thief has already sold some of the characters, and traded my equips for other characters.
It kills me to think that I wasted 3-4 years of my life to this game, but this finally gives me an excuse to quit. The game has truly changed, and it really was no longer enjoyable, I spent my time in remote areas avoiding the egos and such. To all those who knew me, thanks for making the game fun for so long. JLH, thanks a lot, and I can't thank the staff as a whole enough for devoting your time.
Special Thanks
Ste - The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. (I think that is how it went
Jen - I've known and respected you a ton. I know you probably don't know me, but you might remember me as the original Kazul. Anyways, great person, great player.
LoKey - I didn't get to know you -that- well in my days as a Thorn, but you would have to be the best Chairman in the game in my opinion, you are a great person.
Fallen - I got more in common with you than anyone else on here. I had many good times with you killing the Bandit Leader, and you really helped me out letting me tag along with you to bosses and such. I still have to tell you about my dad's moose hunt! I'll try to get on and tell ya about it.
Mono - Joe, you helped me out immensly when I was a thorn. You helped me try and get all the possible monster kills on my baby pallies lol, and I thank you for that. You always let me tag along to bosses and things aswell. You're one of the best!
Amy - I had a lot of fun killing reindeer with you over Christmas! I was on Ketua if you remember
And really to all those in The Resistance, Midnight Thorns, and Draco Honoris, I had a lot of fun with you all, and wish you all the best of luck in the future.
And I'm off!
