every time i roll a mage i cant realy survive cause even at 18 constitution i had 14 max hp!
like when you go to the training place the monsters hit for like 6 and 7 cept for the goblins and you barely get exp for fighting them anyway so you get killed in 2 or 3 hits.

Mages don't have that many hit points, but they compensate with the amount of mana they gain. But I agree with you, they don't have that much hp to go around.

And at level 1-5 several hits can finish you, and at that level you hardly do damage, so you get like 10 exp, and then lose it when you die, lol

Have you bought Shock from the Mage Guild at level 1? This is far more effective way of gaining exp than melee attacking.

mages require a strict diet of orcs. My three mages, lvls 12, 10, and 9 (the ones i'm training now) can take an orc pretty quicly. Three mages with high dex, the monster has to decide who to hit and usually misses, therefore keeping the party alive.
Try leveling on a single brown bear or orc with about three low level mages, it'll help jump you to 15.

Unfortunately, Orcs only give 30 xp/ppd now. The best monster to train Mages on is Trolls. They are 70 xp/ppd plus they have low wisdom, so that makes a good combo for any offensive spellcaster.

Carry a cleric around with mages for leveling. 1 cleric per 2 mages. The cleric heals the mages, AND the monsters. keeping both alive allowing the mages to exp up and stay alive as well.

Only way you can train by healing the monster, is if you're rich. You have to kill the beast to get its gold, to get mana.
