Title: Camouflage
Post by Bullitt on 02/21/03 at 10:55:07
Well since camouflage was altered I basically seem to be getting ‘spotted’ all the time. I was wondering whether the chance of this decreases with level? Or what factors determine this. Considering the main druid I use is level 28 I wouldn’t have thought this would be the case, it seems to happen much more frequently than with a similar level thief.

I was thinking that camouflage could possibly be improved by altering the chance of being ‘spotted’ based on specific location. In the forests and meadows, where the druid is one with nature, there would be a low chance of being seen. In towns however it might be a different story and the druid would have great difficulty hiding in the alien surroundings.

Just a thought anyway, thought it might make things a bit more realistic. I don’t think this should be the case with invisibility though and that should possibly remain as effective in any area.

Do not worry my lvl 13 berserker keeps getting spotted when he enters room and he has always been visible. (HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE staff).

Staff know about this, and will fix it.

I know it's a bug with berserkers but I spoke to staff about it and was told that characters in any form of hiding now have a chance to be discovered...

A chance? When my level 28 mage casts invis on me, i always get detected straight away, its really starting to piss me off.

That was the starting point of my original post; I was saying it’s happening rather a lot. But since I was told there was no bug, I made the post and put a few suggestions in it. I’m beginning to wonder if there is a bug now though...

If this is the case, I'd have to say it's the dumbest update/change I've ever seen happen to the game - nice work staff.

Slowly, the game gets worse and worse.

They bring a new class out, I can see why they did, but why not make all other classes balanced before you bring in a completely new class.  Kind of stupid really.

NM is in a spiral of death and will eventually end.  ::)

Erm... Don't know if that will happen... But they could have updated the other classes first.

How do you spot some 1 that is not bending or shifting light? That is just wrong and druids look exactly like the wall they are standing on the only way to see them would be to smell or hear them.

Magical invisibility shouldnt be able to be spotted unless the conditions for the spell are broken, like attacking.
