I don't play with fighters, because they are too...  boring..

Here's the idea:

Gaurd: -5 str.  and   +5 dex.  (would work just like Rage)

Upon Activating: You take up a defensive position, your guard is up, and you are aware of everyting around you.

Upon Deactivating: You relax and return to your normal stance.

Shouldn't increase dexterity. -5 str and +20 armor or something instead, because the dext would mean you can hit easier aswell, which isn't really possible (as your guarding, the whole point is that your not hitting back that hard)

i would say +30 to armor... to be even more up on guard

Well, if you're on your guard, you'd be able to dodge easier...which would need dex, I guess.



EDIT: Maybe make it to where you can't attack or something?

Better yet, if you do attack let it use up 3 stam while Guard is active.

I like the + Armor idea, I think -5 str would be too much of a waste to be useful even with the bonus dex.

Yeah...but, there has to be some kind of drawback to using it, or else people would just leave it on all the time to get an extra amount of armor.

Anyways, sounds good, though I like -5 str, + 5 dex, +30 ac, 2/3 stam to attack...

The dext OR the extra ac. If both go in its just too much.

I would say, -5 str, +2 dex, +25 armour, 2 stamina to attack, and if you move it would move like a thieves covert, and require stamina...

I don't really see when this could be used to help a crit very much.  In a duel a fighter hits for too little as it is, not being able to attack as much or as hard would be too much of a drawback.

With all the armor negating attacks I don't see it saving you from many deaths anywhere else either.

No offense to the idea at all...i've thought of it before...

yeah, but this idea imo is not to make fighter much better just more funny to play, say i gotta go to toilet and i m in large forest i know it will be quick so i just leave guard on and feel more safe in toilet? :P

why not just +2 strength +2dex and -40 armor..or something like that...

*shrug* i just think fighters need something...only thing that dont have a special abililty..
